Got the car running! Drives much better now and doesn't cut out intermittently. Set the carbs up correctly but revs are hovering around the 900 rpm mark. Is there any way to adjust rpms without adjusting the mixture?

Definitely SU carbs as it's written on the top of the float chambers. The lifting pin I'm talking about is in the second pic. Thanks :)

Well, not got the Carbs back on the car yet as still waiting for the new hoses, Carbs have been fully stripped and rebuilt though, was far less hassle than I thought :). Ive done it with the fuel pump fuse removed and without it removed. The only difference it makes is how much fuel spills out when you disconnect the fuel filter. If you take out the fuse and run the engine until it stops, then try restarting the car until it doesn't start any longer it will have...
