    1993 Nissan Micra Super S - Mikey Mk2

I've not fitted them on the car yet Frank, I originally only decided to replace them as the wishbone themselves are well corroded and for what they cost it seemed worthwhile to replace them, I figured I might as well swap the bushes out in the process. When I get everything together, as I...

    Super S bumper

You need to modify the existing brackets using a hacksaw or get some super s brackets; the standard ones foul the driving lamp recesses. Other than that it is a straight swap.

Rear Strut Brace - Does it do anything?

Thanks guys, looks like something I can strike off my list. I'll probably get a cage made up sooner rather than later. Any other useless handling components I should be aware of?

what did you do to your micra today ?

Thought I would have to replace mine recently and Nissan told me they could order them in for ~£4 per bolt. Managed to reuse my old ones in the end as they cleaned up well, needed a socket hammering onto them to get them out though.

Rear Strut Brace - Does it do anything?

Hi everyone, I'm collecting handling components for my K11 and I have arrived at the point where I am looking for strut braces. Whilst the idea of a front one seems to offer some structural benefits under very hard driving, something about the need for a rear one has left me stumped... The...

    My problem with modern cars

Just looked at the thread and learned it can be depowered by modifying the rack, might be less complicated to actually just fit a non PAS rack and remove the pump etc. I've not done either of these though so don't take my word for it

    My problem with modern cars

Removing it properly is definitely the best option. Tyre and rim size also makes a massive difference to how heavy it feels. My girlfriends K11 which is on standard 13" alloys is way easier to turn when stationary without PAS than my K11 which has 15" wheels with slightly stretched low profile...

    My problem with modern cars

Not sure if this is the case with K11s but on my 54' plate Vectra I could disable the power steering by pulling the fuse. Could be an easy fix (or break, I'm not really sure which term to use haha) if this is the case. If the power steering pump doesn't work, then neither does the power...

    PROject PROfect

Awesome! You've even inspired me with that intercooler placement; it's exactly how I pictured mine would look :)

    Removing Tail Lights

I tried that first Frank, but the lip on the chassis which the light bolts onto started to deform and bend outwards with it  so I stopped and pushed the light back to realign the mounting..

    Removing Tail Lights

I guess I'll attempt this method first then, the lights are non-original however, so the seleant may differ from the one used from factory. Fingers crossed :)

    Removing Tail Lights

Hey everyone, Today I attempted to fit my LED rear lights, however getting the old ones off looks like it may be more challenging than the exhaust change I just did. They appear to have been bonded on with Tiger Seal, which might as well be the same thing as welding considering how tight they...

    1993 Nissan Micra Super S - Mikey Mk2

Well, got the old exhaust off and fitted the new one today. Decided to drop the ARB and lower the whole thing to the ground as it seemed easiest. Hollowed out the cat and fitted it to Frank's manifold, put back on the car and all sealed up with Holts Firegum paste. The new exhaust went on really...

    Cat to Downpipe bolts

Thanks guys! All I have to do now is weld my old tailpipe onto the peter Lloyd back box, the peter Lloyd one looks teeny compared to the one I am used to seeing. If I cut the peter Lloyd tailpipe down to about 1 inch long and sleeve it with my 3 1/2 inch tailpipe by welding it to the back box...

    Cat to Downpipe bolts

Is that the thick mesh gasket that I can see poking out between the cat and the downpipe? There seems to be two types; that one and a thinner type. Was gonna pick the mesh one up tomorrow.

    Cat to Downpipe bolts

Thanks for the heads up :) I got the entire exhaust off today and I'm going to fit the new one tomorrow. The two cat bolts came out relatively easily tbh, I could probably put them back in but I'll ring the local Nissan dealer tomorrow to check if they're in stock and fit new ones if I can get...

    1993 Nissan Micra Super S - Mikey Mk2

I have a feeling that out the box they require some (fairly simple) mods to work with our UK spec K11s, mine were used by a previous member though so apparently they have already been converted. Not tried them yet though...

    1993 Nissan Micra Super S - Mikey Mk2

Just a quick update. Firstly, got the clutch done on my girlfirends micra (Mikey Mk1), ended up removing the driveshafts and taking the gearbox out. It was much easier than I thought and in hindsight I would have done that in the first place, rather than attempting to be a pro like Frank and do...
