Do you have a garage or the potential to put a garage up to keep a car in and help keep the rust at bay? I have a suggestion but a garage more be the useful thing to have to accomplish it:unsure::p

I agree with both of you. However, as pml has said before, the killer is the back of the sills. I find I am rustproofing this lethal area every year to keep the rust at bay but, though, it is a small price to pay as I know the history of the car which pml does not really if he is changing every...

Great job, are you planning to spray any rust proofing stuff inside the sills you have welded?

The might sound like a wild thought but if you do go down the road of buying parts for it, you could get scrapper pretty cheap. That way you could not only swap parts in diagnosis but use the working one for test reference points. This is what I am planning to do, incase i get the same problem...

Thanks guys. I just found out that the fifth gear is in fact the top gear and it is an automatic which changes everything! lol Oh well, back to square one!..lol

Hi Guys, Just wondering if any of you fellow people had come across a k11 that won't engage 5th gear? It is not a biggy to be honest as i am just looking at another micra for spares. This one is a bit dented also so should be ideal ! It has 7 months mot everything else seems to be in order...

Just put my 2001 k11 through the mot. I found two minute holes in the in the sill, I had welded up for £50 and changed the tail light bulb. Sailed through the MOt with just an advisory on getting the front brake pads changed in near future. Another year ahead of trouble free motoring for peanuts !
