no its not tapping, its the heat shield because if I hold it down the noise stops, I know the timing chain can rattle on our engines mine doesn't, that's one thing shes had is regular oil changes.

I have the heatshield rattle too on idle :( one of the bolts has sheared and the other is rusty, I need to remove and reattach.

Is your car a K redg ? as others have said that's some serious rust there, what you going to do ?

Probably the blower switch panel burning out, common problem or so ive read. Easy fix just get another from the scrappers

Unless the car has been abused not had regular oil changes the chains should last lifetime of the engine, but its likely if yours has had replacement cams the chains where done.

If it doesn't flash any faster with blown side repeaters that means its using an electronic flasher unit, pre facelift K11s use the conventional flasher relay cylinder and they are effected by bulb loss, its also a warning to the driver a bulb has blown. I still wouldn't remove the side...

Im thinking of fitting a strut brace, will it make a difference as im on standard wheels and tyres? Im hoping it will stiffen the front end up as I do tend to throw her around abit.

I paid £320 for mine with almost full test and 4 months tax, I reckon davyboy is about right or maybe a bit less, if your sorted out the issues and tested it youd get more. Just my view :)
