    PistonHeads.com: 50mph Speed Limit Looms

Bloody dictators. I'm sick of them. Why don't they do their bl**dy JOB i.e. REPRESENT US ?? The Driving Test is there to determine that you are qualified to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY and drive safely on the roads, but this Government are determined to take away that responsibility from us. It...

LPG Micra's? Who's Done It Then? (No Chat)

I am thinking of this, but how much does it cost? Also thinking that there aren't many places selling LPG even though it was introduced years ago! I think an easier comparison would be average cost per mile rather than MPG, assuming similar performance ;) BG

    cuting the springs

I wouldn't cut springs to be honest, you will have less metal supporting you which means less capability of absorbing shocks. Far better (and safer) to buy proper ones. Plus you will be stressing your shocks a lot more and these aren't cheap to replace. Original springs are bouncy enough as it...

    New to k11's

I don't think the LX (or whatever) badge is descriptive enough, since there seem to have been a number of options with each model. My K-reg 1993 LX, for instance, has: Electric Windows Central Locking Boot/Fuel cap cable release (Boot has a key lock as well but the FC doesn't) Sunroof...

    Parcel shelf

I know the feeling, my K10 was broken into a while back, the (locked) glovebox door was ripped off and things strewn about inside the car, but nothing was taken, even the CDs. The bds were probably looking for a sat-nav as I had forgotten to clean the tell-tale sucker mark off the screen, or...

    K11 excessive steering wheel vibration

They usually charge £5 per wheel here, only takes a few minutes. They should always be done when the tyres are changed and it's recommended to have them checked every 6-12 months depending on mileage. BG

    pc help

Try your hosts file m8 a script could have added to it. If it is it'll have 127.0.0.1 followed with the site you're trying to access, delete the entry then save it (with Notepad) then remove the .txt extension. BG

Advice please urgent regarding car cutting out???

I had a similar thing happen to my K10. Turned out it was losing the spark, due to a knackered ignition generator so I don't know if this will relate to the K11. Any attempt to apply power would cause it to judder and "hold back" (kangaroo) which made climbing hills rather tricky, then it...

PistonHeads.com: Judge lies his way to jail over 6mph ticket

That's very true. And look how much they are screwing us. We pay more and more tax, where does it end? With more and more no longer able to afford it ... Food for thought ;) BG

PistonHeads.com: Judge lies his way to jail over 6mph ticket

Some good comments on there. I wonder what he would have been sentenced to here, considering a driver who killed 6 people recently here received 3 years ... BG

    Cracked windscreen! Bloody Vandels!!

Thanks for the tip-off about NCB on windscreen cover Nex, I'll check this out with the insurance co. (I assumed ANY claim would count as such) £200+ is a lot to spend on windscreens within 2-3 years !! Hope I won't be so unlucky in future. BG

should it be stripped or sold

I wouldn't strip that car, what a waste :( I'd sell it if it were me (if I was forced to) BG

    Got a new car

I do that in my Micras lol :D quite amusing seeing the reactions when you overtake everything else on the road in a humble 1l :p (I don't sit in the middle lane if there's someone else behind with a bit more power BTW, I just hate slowing down for the dawdlers in front :p) BG

stupid question from a newbie :)

I had that when I first bought my K10. Thought I had a radiator leak but it turns out the water hadn't been topped up for ages and it took several goes to fill it and get the air out of the system :wasntme: BG

Family too Fat to Work Say 22k of benefits is not enough

Since they are overweight they are clearly getting TOO MUCH benefit  Simple way to reduce their weight. Stop handing them so much of our tax money !!! Make them work for their meals. Like we have to. BG

    Bonnet catch

The black spring may have stretched a bit. This would prevent it from springing the catch up when you pull the cable release. The hook (top left) is the safety catch I think (will have to look at mine to be sure though) assuming they all have one? The one you operate by hand when the main catch...

    Pffffft.

Certainly is. You were following the lanes correctly, he wasn't. If he HAD to come across lanes then he should have bloody looked in his mirrors and let you get out of the way, instead of shoehorning you. That is what mirrors are for  Similar thing happened to mine when some dozy plonker...

    Cracked windscreen! Bloody Vandels!!

This is useful info, although I do have windscreen cover on my K11 I would sooner fit one from the scrappy than lose my NCB. I had to replace the screen on my K10 TWICE - first time when I bought it because the previous owner had let knackered wipers scratch the glass ... and second time last...
