Just double posted on my phone some how. If you are trying to remove scratches by hand the swirl X from halfords may do the job but not if scratches are deep. Nothing will put enough heat into the polish to get it to work as its supposed to.

If new with a machine a dual action polisher may be the way to go (its what i started with and still have it) The Flex i use now is a rotary and costs around £380 :eek: but its very light, very quiet and easy to use. Same results can be achieved with any DA though (dual action)

Paint was in a pretty poor state, camera pics hid a lot of it, but lots of swirls and scratches all over. After washing and claying yesterday it got a quick foam before the polishing process. Quick snow foam. The weapon of choice today was. i did alter the combo to a wool pad as some of...

If the gearbox is stiff it will most likely be the linkage underneath, one turn of a spanner can sort that out as i found out today :)

Debadged the rear, did an engine bay and door shut detail, replaced broken wing mirror and bit that pleased me the most was grovelling under the car while on those cheap ramps from halfords and loosening the linkage on the gear change thingy, now it springs back into place in neutral :) Also...

I'll ne rebadging the rear tomorrow so need a 'what will you do to your micra tomorrow' topic lol. Like the wheels, look very similar to the fox racing ones I waxed up in the lounge last night, should have posted that in the 'what did you do to your micra yesterday' topic :)

I'm sure a paint guy would know, all I do is correct the finish :) shame paint is not what it used to be with all the health and safety and environment rubbish.

What age did Nissan stop descent paint? Don't know about the new micras but the new navaras are crap
