    My 1.4 SX (with engine off and locked) = No illuminated switch. My 160SR (with engine off and locked) = No illuminated switch. It's not a switch I have EVER looked at before, hell nobody where I live has to lock their cars, let alone lock themselves into their cars..... where do you work...

    Well.... the switch is not short circuiting then.... it's working fine! Do you drive with your lights on? If so, that switch will be illuminated.

    If it only happened once and all is now fine don't worry about it mate...... the starter on my 15 year old Micra (141,000 miles) has made a few strange noises over the years but it has never failed. Just see how it goes. Mike.

    As for the oil leak, it could be the camshaft sensor O-Ring. Have a feel around the camshaft position sensor and if it's oily it will most definitely need a new o-ring. It's a ten minute job.

    Nice one. The secret is to tighten up the new one finger tight and then a 1/8th turn, that's all you need..... don't tighten the hell out of it ;)

    Hammer a screwdriver through the filter and then use the driver as a lever..... works every time but messy ;)

    BTW..... my bolts also had springs attached.

    I had the EXACT same thing.... took the car to a garage and the mechanic put the OXY torch on both studs until they were red hot and he extracted them easily with grips. No need to re-tap, the new bolts went in fine.

    Get one of those German Cobra exhausts mate...... a few months in and I can honestly say that was 99 "Euros" well spent..... a definite (slight) improvement in performance and an awesome (understated / quality / subtle) tone from the exhaust...... very nice indeed and takes 5 minutes to fit, and...

    I had the exact same thing last year and it was the camshaft sensor. Fine when the engine was warm but all over the place when cold......
