My coilovers that have been adapted to fit the Micra will be up for sale soon, you can then lower it to the point it's undriveable. :rolleyes:

It's good to see someone experimenting with this, despite the lack of positive results. A cheap, lightweight but decent heater system would be good if it's possible. Good luck with it, I'll be attempting something like this, after winter though:p

Yeah, that's what I thought, it's just that the discs on Micra's with abs are different to those without iirc. Not sure about the calipers though.

Feck, bigger brakes are definately on the cards, had to perform an emergency stop for the first time with these wider tyres, after some guy jumped infront of me while I'm braking for traffic lights and took all my braking space, 1" between me and him, good job I was quick. But there was no tyre...

Thanks Guy, I hadn't forgot about those, it's just that I recently replaced the front brake hoses, I did consider the metal braided ones but I couldn't justify the cost of £65 for the pair at the time. I'll probably be getting the EBC Greenstuff pads too whatever calipers I get.

Ok ta mate, that's what I was looking for but do they actually fit under 13"s? Some say yes, some no and IIRC you shaved abit off the caliper to fit?? Yeah, even under normal conditions they're bad, but add luggage, passengers or enthusiastic driving and they're just terrible.

Was it actually smoke or steam? I think what I thought was smoke on mine is actually just steam, as I gathered abit of mayo under the oil filler cap but with no other signs of headgasket failure and I'm not loosing any coolent. I've only been running it for short distances lately without warming...

Yeah, I believe Stani's running 185's on stock width iirc.

These are his 13x6.5 ones, I've ran them for 6000miles+ now I think. They were a fair bit cheaper than banded;) and better looking too imo, you don't get that step with most banded wheels, his workmanship shouldn't be anything to be worried about either.

They said they've stopped making tyres in this size now though, so it's going to be harder to buy them new.

Got some part worns fitted. Tyre fitters were impressed by Frank's steels, saying they look good and are well made too etc.:) 185/60/13 tyres should be a little more grippier now, excellent:D

Dropped it off at the bodyshop to have nearly £500 worth of repairs:eek: could buy another for that. Tried to get cash but he got everything sorted with the garage before I knew how much it was. Also suspect that he doesn't have valid insurence so I'll take anything. Definately need to sort...
