SSR MK III and Rota Wheels Fashback

I'm sure eventually I will be swayed by Matt Humphris for a set of Spax adjustable coilovers but currently the car is undergoing a serious drivetrain upgrade in order to make way for a higher powered engine setup later this year. It's just running the usual Koni yellows with Eibach -35mm...

    germank11's micra-project

100% sure, I've seen the maps in live trace myself. One of our guys in particular here in the UK knows the K11 ECU's very well. He has successfully re-mapped several ECU's, including mine as well as a few turbo setups. The standard ECU barely uses 1/2 of it's load scale and the whole fuelling...

SSR MK III and Rota Wheels Fashback

I went through this around 5 years ago and the best deal in terms of a weight/price comparison turned out to be OZ Superleggeras 4.9kgs in 15x7.0 size. They have been replaced by OZ Ultraleggeras now, which are 4.99kgs, Rota Grids for example come in at around 5.8kgs a rim in 15x6.5 fitment...

The K11 ecu's run entirely in closed loop.....even at WOT.

    Tomei Cams :(

You can get very similarly spec'd cams over here from Matt Humphris, which are 254deg in/ex, which work very well on the CG13 engines. From experience on various cam specs, it's best not to go for too much duration, lack of compression for one soon becomes a problem, unless you're considering...

    Geoff W Completed!

I would be very interested to see the printout, as 400Nm from a CG13 on 7psi of boost is not at all realistic, which will also sqew the power figures unfortunetely. As a comparison we have a fully forged CGA3 running 14.5psi of boost and that currently makes 275Nm at the flywheel.

I assume those power figures are from another car and not the K11?

    custom cam

I'm not quite sure I fully understand your timings Frank. A 30/75/75/30 cam setup would have a duration of 285deg, on both inlet and exhaust. However you said you have only modified the inlet cam? This would give you a theoretical timing setup of 30/75/62/30? It would have been very interesting...

    20mm or 22mm sway bars

Swaybars do try to lift the inside wheel per say but they only do so with respect to the load imposed on the outside wheel. This keeps body roll and thus weight transfer to a minimum and helps to keep more weight on the inside, reducing the tendancy for the inside wheel to lift clear when...

    bluey makes 80.4hp @ wheels!

A 1mm gasket wouldn't make much difference since the stock gasket is 1.2mm. Gaskets usually come in 0.7mm and 0.5mm variety for those wanting a cheap way to increase compression slightly. Personally I would do it properly and run high compression pistons, as it's worth it in the long run. 100hp...

Do you have any power figures before and after this mod, so we can see what the real gains are?

    Tb and injector talk again

A narrowband sensor is only accurate to AFR's very close to stoich, (+ or - 0.5AFR). 0.9v could mean an AFR of anything from say 14.2:1 AFR or richer, (no way of telling as the sensor will flatline to 0.9v RICH). I would also expect the sensor to show near 0v, especially over the midrange...

    Tb and injector talk again

Narrow band lambda readings wont be accurate enough to show you what the mixture is doing. Besides you never get out of closed loop on the K11 jeccs ecu's anyway. The MAF scale that the ecu is calibrated to will be out from the CG13 unit if using a GA16 body, and using GA16DE injectors isn't a...

    cars been dyond

The only point on those two graphs which shows the power figures stated is the right hand graph, represented by 2nd gear, which will be inflated due to the gear ratio. The car should have been run in 4th gear, (closest to 1:1), from low rpm to give a progressive graph, (as in the left hand...

some more mods to my micra.

Make sure the battery is very very well bolted down. If you have the unfortunate experience of a crash, that battery will do a lot of damage if it breaks loose.

    decat any help

That's interesting, we did tests with and without the standard cat on the competition system and it stole a noticable amount out from the top end powerband. The car was mapped without the de-cat in place, with the standard cat it sounded pretty much the same, (but the Group A system is only 88dB...

How many NA screamers out there?

This volume is considered 'dead volume' anyway. An engine's displacement is defined by it's swept volume and it's an important factor in setting the static compression ratio of the engine. Now that you've mentioned the method for measuring your 'displacement' your static compression ratio calcs...
