Haha, that would be one wacky setup! FYI, we have finished simulations and have ended up pretty close to that selection. The limitations were down to working with the 30mm lifter size, the availability of an off the shelf spring and what was possible to be ground from a genuine Nissan cam...

    Mal's K11 + TD04 build

I think you made more than that Frank. We made ~50bhp @ 3k on stock compression and I am sure your dyno pull showed plenty more torque below 4k with your high comp 1311 ;) (can't find the blasted graphs though <- FAIL!) :P Doubling torque at any rpm is good though :)

Bah, I couldn't find the thread where the deets were located. That's plenty of lift @TDC, will give lousy idle and give the low end some beating but once up on cam that should go like a #### :oP I don't know what profile we ended up at on the last simulations but we are having a real problem...

We'll be doing the same thing on the car once it's back, as sunroof was binned in favour of a cage. We'll be taking a sheet of aluminum though, joggling it so it sits in the sunroof cutout recess. Get it anodized and bond it in with high modulus silicone sealer, (don't want that thing coming...

my ghetto $100 turbo build :)

None what so ever I'm afraid. I am currently in the process of running simulations to see what the limits are for camshaft profiles on the CG cylinder heads. We are somewhat limited by the 30mm follower sizes on what can be achieved using available off the shelf valve springs. The standard...

thoughts on liquid to air intercooling

Some interesting reading but all together heavily simplified. Probably why the term 'heat exchanger' and 'heat sink' are easily confused? The water injection article is better overall and it does nicely describe the reasons behind the uses of water injection. Most ricers view it in the modern...

    Running a little Weird

People only say that when their general attitude is 'I can't be assed' and they are morons. If you want to rule out dodgy lambda sensor feedback, just fire the car up with the lambda sensor disconnected and post back how it idles.

    BC Coilovers

I see a lot of Japanese K11's running around on 6kg front springs and 4kg rears, however I have seen one car running as much as 10kg fronts and 8kg rears. Whatever, they always seem to stick with a 2kg split between front and rear. The 10kg/8kg setup sounds like you'd be keeping your dentist...

    My little beast

I heard of one guy trying to make 400bhp from the cg13de over your way.....that wouldn't be you by any chance?

    My little beast

If you spec a good spring its possible to make it work. The stock springs are pretty soft and once you go agressive on the profile the top shims can get spat out. Opting for a solid follower removes that possibility entirely and coupled with a Ti retainet reduces valvetrain mass further so you...

    My little beast

That's assuming you make do with something from the Nissan range Frank. There's quite a few options out there which require minimal work ;)

    My little beast

Pretty big spec and interesting to see custom valves & springs bought into the mix. I'm surprised to see no mention of junking the standard followers though. You junking them for solids or leaving the OEM items?

    Wanted - Speedometer drive

I 'think' he has an SPA unit, (rev counter with digital speedo readout), but I am not 100% on that. They are normally setup using a once per rev input and a wheel circumference very similar to a bike speedo. I you have 4 per rev you can just divide it down, then it's set in the speedo through...

    Wanted - Speedometer drive

I remember you asking for one quite a while ago, these are not common to come across even in Japan, (though you may get lucky eventually). I have one but it's in my gearbox and thus not for sale. I'd suggest converting to electronic speedo, you could use an ABS pickup and sensor or do what Matt...

    Nismo Brake Cylinder Stopper?

Those must be the same breed of people who thought seatbelts were dangerous and it was safer to be flung away from the car in a crash ;)

    Nismo Brake Cylinder Stopper?

I am pretty much undercover in the UK, there isn't much worth in posting anything over on the UK forums, they're all driven by money over there, £10 here, £50 there and you are very much shunned if you spend anything more on anything or it's not made out of old coke bottles, coat hangers and...

    Nismo Brake Cylinder Stopper?

Yep, only time I have noticed the difference with braided lines has been on an old classic where the hoses have been so old they have been suffering from thrombosis and needed to be chucked anyway. Rollcages defo FTW and from a safety perspective screw the added weight too! I'm really looking...
