    Engine Machining/Other Engine Bits

Regardless of opinions, I think it's worth noting that these harmonic dampeners only seem to appear on the UK spec CG13DE & CGA3DE engines. The JDM engines do not appear to have them on any of the CG range be it CG10, CG13 or CGA3.....

    new NA project started

Haha, sweet! Matt sent me that very photo yesterday as a matter of fact ;) I had a feeling they may be destined to you but one can never be too sure. Slightly different to ours, we have the old original design, as attached. There are a few variations but the system length I am sure will be very...

    Engine Machining/Other Engine Bits

The CG10DE crank pulley doesn't have a dampener built into it like the CG13DE does, (pic below).

    Engine Machining/Other Engine Bits

Turbo march has built several crazy K11's now and knows his oats, so I will try not to repeat anything he's already added ;) There is little available for the CG engines, (things are improving), but they're not a tuners engine with a massive following like the SR20 or 4G63 for example where you...

my facelift k11 turbo build thread

That photo was pretty much worst case. Solid lifters and tophat valve shims are much safer, solid lifters with ground stems are even more so. Sorry if I freaked you out ;) If you're going to turbo that engine, I would say CG13DE cams would be the limit to start with and see where you go. I...

my facelift k11 turbo build thread

Ah I remember now. There were no closeup shots of the cams, so it was a 'best guess' at the time. As Frank says, they look wilder than the '773' 264s. It would be interesting to see what the profiles on those cams turn out to be. One has to be careful not to go too wild with the stock...

my facelift k11 turbo build thread

I'm assuming the need for 1.6mm underbucket shims is because the OEM shims are insufficient? Where did you get those from incidentally? They look different to '773' profile cams and also don't appear to have the right markings stamped into the side of the cam by the cam drive. '773' cam below.....

    Sway bars

Haha, I did get the rear one on without taking any paint off it but not the front one. Both are powdercoated now though, as is the rear panhard rod. That suffered the same fate and the plating on the threaded end was lousy also. It needed an oxy torch to get that badboy off! They were...

    Sunroof transplant..

Well having just had my car out of a Nissan dealership having a rollcage put in, (which resulted in the sunroof being removed), one of the first things they offered me to do while it was in the shop, was to remove the old sunroof panel and weld in a solid one in it's place. It is possible, but...

    Sway bars

As already said, Whiteline stuff is good because it's available when compared to the Nismo equivalent items and will also be much more cost effective. From experience I can also say that Whiteline stuff does lack somewhat in the quality department. It's probably less of an issue for your guys...

    Mal's K11 + TD04 build

Shoot.....that's thrown my calcs off. I always went on the pistons bowls being 8.1cc and not 6.5cc. Ciscos Jap CG13DE must have been an oddball perhaps....

    MickB Micra

Yeah, just got that mail, (not been checking much recently). I have the viscous LSD in there at the moment, so will see what that's like as a comparison before I do anything else. We're still in build, so it will be a while before I test things out. The Gripper LSD I have had a huge amount of...

    MickB Micra

Be aware when ordering a Gripper LSD that the default specification is for off-road forest rallys and is therefore a 2-way 45/45 setup with a tonne of preload. A typical FWD setup is 1.5way 40/65. Also, if you want to retain the standard mechanically driven speedo tell them, as they often send...

I figured as much, with people like TMRS and Kovert offering up some quality builds, it kinda sets the standard across the water ;) The only photos I have at the moment are located on the below link on post number #48, which shows the modified back bulkhead to make more room for the throttle...

    MickB Micra

I don't have one, never bothered to start one on the MSC due to the general consensus. Big build/big budget stuff is a bit wasted to be honest, as anyone who spends more on a car than it cost to buy is often frowned upon. I'm sure you guys would dig it though but living in Norway with the car...
