Can't understand what the circlip is in wrong place unless a bearing had collapsed etc inside box? Run fine as far as I'm aware though. Just finished 2 rallies. Was thinking as last resort cutting a small ring for circlip into shaft with slitting disc. But would cause a weakness.

24.5mm across splines. It's identical to long shaft inner joint . Should mention the box has a 5.1 cwp and a gripper LSD. Shouldn't really make any difference Thanks for reply

Hola had issues buying my replacement seals so sent to Nissan to get some. They couldn't get none so bought some from a seal specialist locally. My newly built duratec used to smoke ( blue) was the running in process as bores got glazed. Was told that had run it to gently and only drove it hard after I had changed the oil to proper oil then this was too late. Hope you get it sorted soon. Love the idea of throttle bodies or carbs. Airbox...

Yes the car is legal. The L plates are just a Mick take because looks like a school of motoring car. Never thought about taking to a show before. Track day thing is it? I've only really done rallies and road rallies

Got to put bloody shaft seals in again as leaking already. The ones I used were the best fitting but slightly wrong type.
