Discovered this after I spent hours cleaning it on Saturday... Think the pigeons are laughing at my expense.

The boot switch breaking is incredibly common on the K12, water gets in and either sends it funny or completely kills it. Luckily mine has avoided this so far, but it hapenned to my mums. New switch should see it sorted :)

Ah well, was a bit of a shot in the dark! The only other thing I can think of is that the circular connectors on each of them look roughly the same size, might the one on the clear indicator be an adapter and come off to fit the one connected to your car.
