yes you're right:grinning: the pipe is sort of overlapping (in the hope that a bit of cold air is still drawn in). i assume this will give no long term damage to the engine etc as the air drawn in is hotter, even though much more can now be pulled in.

ok will have a go o nsearch :-) im thinking even with a cold air feed i wont see much if any improvement on the 1litre. is a new air feed classed as an engine mod?

hmm maybe but the standard air feed pipe is so pants it probably cancels itself out :-) would you recommend a cold air feed then??

buy a flat panel element replacement (as this does not class as an engine mod as you are keeping stock air box). then un-plug the air intake pipe like i have and what you have is basically a bolt on cone. sounds awesome

yep spot on. and you should unplug the cold air feed pipe and leave it loose overlapping. stil cold air coming and and s very nice noise wehen u put your foot down. so thats the panel filter is just a replacement. check with ya insruance (im with CIS) but it should not change as your just...

i have kept in the standard air intake pipe and simply unplugged it off the air box and half overlapped it with the original hole. So the pipe is stil there (still screwed in) but only half covering it. The induction noise is as good as with no filter box lid still, this also isn't an engine...

igot the flat panel filter. its good as its not an engine mod its just a replacement element, and im going to do something about the crappy air feed pipes soon. the flat panel makes the car feel faster due to a much qucker response and it sounds a bit deeper

ok thanks. i havnt a clue what they are worth so il have a look into it over the next day or so (or if anyone else knows please let me know:-) ). i saw a post today saying they got an air box from a scrap yard for 2quid, although obviously i would expect to pay that.

i'm after air box, parcel shelf and air intake pipes. any prices?
