Good to hear you got it fixed, but if it HAD snapped, would it really have damaged the engine? I thought that the design meant that a snapped chain did no engine damage?

I've fixed mine too. I serviced it at the weekend, and found there was a rusted jubilee clip rattling around the exhaust!

I think mine sounds similar when I start it up, like a diesel. I'm servicing it hopefully this weekend, and I'm going to check the heat-shields as I think one of those is loose, although I think that's causing a different rattle and not the diesel sound!

I've been looking at replacement horns on ebay for my K11, as I feel the standard ones are a little on the weak side. There are a few different ones listed, most are listed as 'snail style' upgrades. Has anyone fitted these, or another type to improve the sound?

I get around 300 miles from my K11 1.3i.

My V reg has a rusting crossmember, so much so that the fixing point in the front middle that holds the bonnet catch bracket on has come apart. I had an MOT 2 weeks ago and it passed, with an advisory of a corroded crossmember. There is a guide on the site on how to replace the crossmember but...

My K11 already has a petrol cap release lever to the right of the drivers seat. I've found a K11 breaking that has both the petrol cap and boot release lever. How much work is involved in getting the parts out of the breaking K11 and fitting to mine?
