thanks guys. I did realise that youd gain about 5hp if it got the same compresion as the high compresion head, I'm not that dull :p lol. I meant what could be gained from skimming it as much as possible

I've got a 1.0 with the low compression head and I was wondering if its possible to skim it the right amount to make it the same as the higher compression heads, or if there is more of a difference between the two heads than this? also, how much can be taken off safely before you start running...

richj might have a point with the vacuum hose. you wont have the idle compensator valve anymore, but is there a vacuum hose flapping around that's not connected to anything? if so block it up and see how it runs. I don't know how much has been changed when you changed the carb so I might be...

You could just use standard automotive wire/cable which you can buy from places like halfords and motorworld. It'll say the max rated current on the reels so get make sure its enough for what the kit uses. If you don't know what current the kit uses then you'd probably be safe to get some that...
