If it's running well then I don't see why not. Make sure all your fluids are topped up, and if they need changing, change em, make sure your tyres and lights are working etc. Personally I would do it, and I live further from Newquay than you do. Not owned my K10 long but have put 1,000 miles...

Hi, welcome to the MSC. Petrol may be a damaged filler seal perhaps? When you undo your petrol cap can you feel the release of pressure or not? If so then you know that your fuel system is not air tight, could be a damaged seal or the tank may be weeping slightly.

If you did it every week you wouldn't need copper grease. lol It's good practice in my opinon (although I am not a trained mechanic). I work on my cars most days. There's been a problem with my lights since I got the car. They all work fine as in they all emitt the right amount of light when I turn the lights on, but when I turn the sidelights on a noise...like a grinding electric motor or summat sounds, then when I turn the headlights on the sound stops...

When you replace the bolts I always put a dab of copper grease on the threads...makes it easier the next time you have to take them out.
