Initial D - The Real Life Locations...

Agreed! However since finding out that all the drawings were based on real life locations and places...it gave initial D a whole new level of excellentness to me! lol

    screaching altenator belt

Belt driven. I have the MA10 engine and I changed my timing belt about a month ago (simply because I just bought the car and didn't know if it had been done yet)...and the MA12 engine is extremely similar. That's for the K10, which I presume you are on about...the K11 and K12 versions of the...

Apologies, yes I did mis-read your post. As Ed says SR20 DEs and their Turbo companions are pretty good engines which is why a lot of S13 owners ungrade their CA18 DET engines (which are made out of cheese) to the SR20Det engines.

    seating question !!

I think the car is going v.cheap, so possibly buy the car for £50, swap the seats, sell the car? Not a great option, but a viable one if you can't find any other seats.

Hmm....I was just wondering whether the bearings in the alternator are going. I don't really know.

    seating question !!

Here is the thread you are after: http://micra.org.uk/showthread.php?t=12195&highlight=gold+k10 Not got a clue about the cd player question. I'm ok with everything except electronics, I just can't get my head round it. My best mate re-wired my car for me for my CD player last weekend... he...

    screaching altenator belt

Perhaps it's the alternator rather than the alternator belt?? Is your battery keeping charge?

    seating question !!

I haven't owned a micra long so don't know much about the availability of parts, but I seem to remember someone saying that they're difficult to get hold of. But a breakers yard is your best bet, or ebay, or in the buy and sell section on here.

    seating question !!

I think the closest thing Nissan did to a bucket seat in the K10, was the seats they created for the K10 Super S. Arnold off here has Super S seats, this is the only pic I can find of them though: Alternatively you could buy bucket seats from ebay or somewhere like that.

    Anyone refitted a k10 window?

I've pushed out windscreens with my feet before, (not on a micra though) and it's simple enough, just sit in the passenger seat, stick yer feer in the air and push the windscreen. Don't kick it, just push carefully, it's better with two of you I've found, one sitting in each seat, that way you...

    seating question !!

I'm sure they would fit in terms of space and size, but you would have to custom make some sub-frames for the seats to sit on.

    Burning Oil?

By the sounds of it when he says "Thick white" it's more than normal...I dunno. Gurpreet...thick white exhaust fumes, isn't a good sign if it's there all the time. As maddave says, all cars emmit some white smoke (steam) when the exhaust is cold but once it warms up that should fade away. If...

    15.7@86mph

Lots of people say that, it's because the track is made as smooth as possible, designed for slick tyres that have maximum contact with the track. Street tyres have very little contact with the track compared to slicks due to all the grooves cut into the tyres, hence the apparent slippiness of...

    gearbox refill

To remove the plug you need to remove the bolt that holds the plate into place and then pull on the speedo cable (as long as it's still attatched to the plate) to remove the whole thing. The plug can be very stiff though, so what I do is (once I've removed the bolt) to use a flat head screw...
