    How to remove rear bumper?

Yes the valves could be bent and the pistons damaged, its worth trying replacing the belt and pully then doing a compression test to see if they are bent.

If you do end up having to drill the threds out (worst case) then forget helicoils.... i hate them. Timesert's are the daddy's they are a solid insert and much better then helicoils. used to build engines for a living and where i worked helicoil was a worse word than any swareword lmao...

    Fuel saver? Or a con?

just a thought on this, if there was any truth in it all fuel injection cars would be excellent on fuel due to the magnets in the electric fuel pump........ my K10 is the most fuel efficient car i have ever owned. As adam and jamie would say ''myth busted!!''

It had a pair of rear shockers just before i bought it so maby thats helping, i dont see a serious problem doing a few laps of a roundabout...

    Locking Rear Brakes

after driving mine about tonight in the rain i couldn't provoke the back end to come round at all, then again i didn't use the handbrake (thats cheating:upside: ) I guess i am too used to the bm, slight tickle on the throttle on this certain (disused...honest) roundabout and out she came...

    Damp

Mine started cutting out and running crap, turned out to be the fuel pump... sounds like yours is ignition related though, check the low tension (voltage) wires to the coil and there connections too, Is the dizzy cap cracked? If you are unsure about the dizzy to dizzycap seal a thin smear...

    Cambelt failure

it took me about 2 and a bit, i wasnt going to do the waterpump but once i got the timing covers off i noticed it had just started weaping so had to wait for 1 to be delivered, best to make sure i get the right 1 before taking the old off. if i did another without waterpump it would be close...

    Cambelt failure

Sammohung If it was too tight when it was fitted it will shorten the life of the belt, if i were you i would be aiming to do the belt and pump at about the 100K mark. I did mine today and what a mare it was.... 2 reasons 1) the old waterpump gasket was welded to the engine and took ages...
