Problem with the ST FOUND :(

That is really upsetting Steve. I sincerely hope you can get a solution sorted sometime soon. Personally I would probably get one of Ed's blocks and rebuiild it, trying to fix something like that could end up just being a waste of a lot of money. So when do we get to see this rebuilt...

My ST nearly taken by scum!

Only thing worse than a car thief is an amateur car thief...seriously, why not just throw a brick through the window next time... idiots! I once knew a guy who stole a lot of cars and was very good at it. So good in fact that he only got caught once. However, due to all of his victims...

More driving with both feet imo :p

    Reason for Richness

Try asking on the aussie pulsar forums. If you wanted to use something like a T25 you could probably use something like what many of the ET owners use as they often set them up for running similar boost levels and are only a 1.5

    Reason for Richness

There would be places over here that could do that sort of turbo build for you. It would be extremely expensive to get it done in GBP plus shipping, due to the state of the aussie dollar. I think you'd be looking at $1000-$1200 to get it done locally by someone reputable. 1000 pounds is about $1800.

    Reason for Richness

Is the T2 part the compressor or turbine?? I'm guessing compressor as I don't recall you ever mentioning a moddified manifold.

What oil should the St run on

Here's another thread about it: http://www.micra.org.uk/showthread.php?t=32701 I would only use a 100% synthetic. Generally people will go for a thinner oil on turbo cars but having said that sometimes it is good to use something a little thicker on an older model car. I honestly don't...

my ST goes to a new home

Welcome Duncan! Congratulations on the purchase of the ST. If any front wheel drive is likely to convert you it's this one :p You have a nice collection of nissans there, I'm also jealous of the stagea, great cars. Stay in Touch Marty!!

    Blow off valves

Sweet. Except I won't ever have an open pod on this car...after those dust storms we had last week it just reinforced to me how much we should be using a full air box in this stupid hot dry country lol

    Poly Suspension Bushes

Yeah still waiting to hear back on a price for these. I'll post up as soon as I know for sure. I'll chase em up this week.

    St compatible parts

Mate I really hope you don't think my rant earlier was intended as an accusation. I know all too well what a great job you did of getting this car running better than you got it. However, my point of running it at 158bhp was still valid and I never realised until the other day that it was...

    St compatible parts

Glad you've got it all under control now. Although that is pretty disappointing for you, hopefully it will all come good now that you're on to it all. Let us know how you get on with those uprated gaskets. I'm in the process of doing the same atm and am happy to share anything in regards to...

    St compatible parts

Mate, I don't want to sound like devil's advocate here...but... I was always under the impression oem ST headgaskets fail around 160bhp. That ST was advertised on ebay as 160bhp. With an old stock headgasket, as far as we know. ST headgaskets are near extinct. If that 160bhp was achieved...

    St compatible parts

Has your gasket blown?? Wouldn't surprise me at all. I bought a couple of timing belt kits from the figaro dude on ebay and I was very unimpressed with the quality def not oem.

    St compatible parts

Figaro is just an MA10 gasket and is intended for use on a 63kw boosted engine so you would hope they would be of a fairly decent quality. If you are going for MA10 parts the fig parts would be preferable just coz they are used in higher power applications to the standard MA10. There is a Nismo...

    St compatible parts

Personally, I would rather use a gasket that fits 100% correctly but I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world if you used a ma10 gasket...there will be a 1mm groove around the inside of your combustion chamber where the two surfaces meet though...it's your call, I've heard of people doing...

    St compatible parts

The basic lump is still an MA series engine. So yes most of the things attached, like timing belt, ignition components (many also match an E15ET), water pump etc will fit. The headgasket has a difference of 2mm on the inside cylinder bore to the MA10 gasket. Keeping in mind the difference in power.

my st is for sale now!

It's sad to see you go mate. You did an awesome job with that car and it was actually nice to see an auto being kept in a good state. Who knows, maybe one day you can get another one (Y) Take care of yourself.
