    Which Induction kit????

Thanks, should have phrased that differently. As in, does it serve any other function? Really should disconnect it, plug up the hole and see what it sounds like just to satisfy my curiosity. Also, incidentally, any opinions on the waffle-like grid inside the top of the airbox? Does it...

    Which Induction kit????

Another Option I think Nissan got it right with the airbox, panel filter and the intake tubing routed down behind the headlight. The amount of incoming cool air is restricted, however, by the diameter of the tubing and opening in the airbox. The airbox of an Almera fits the throttle...

    Single Shock Price?

Yes, replace them as pairs. Recently changed the rears with Gabriels that I bought on Echo Bay. Surprised, however, to note that the old, originals still had some life in them (almost as good as the new ones) after 140K+ miles. Don't know what company makes them for Nissan but they're...

    Single Shock Price?

Yes, one on eBay that I might be able to get at a reasonable price (who buys one shock?) but if a Nissan shock is, say, £60+ (which they no doubt are)then I might as well go for KYB, or similar. Not particularly looking for uprated or stiffer shock as my rat runs are in shocking (pardon the...

    Instrument Pod

An even better location would be in place of the heater controls but I haven't looked into the possibility of swopping them out. No problem, however, with seeing them down there. S

    Instrument Pod

Spot on sonic. Started with minimum curvature and as the plastic heated screwed the end caps down a little. No gaps, really, took my time fitting the gauge piece. Just overlaps on the sides and is pretty snug along the bottom join. The openings are countersunk slightly, just a bit over 53mm at...

    Instrument Pod

Got to thinking about ways to mount gauges on the dash. I wanted a, sort of, factory look and after looking at the dash panels, thought I might work something out by doing a little surgery to them. Trip to the scrapyard for spares and after some careful measuring, cutting (razor saw), and...

    New Instrument Cluster Lights

Incidentally, clever of Nissan to put those little condom-like rubber sleeves on the original lights to change them from white to blue. S

    New Instrument Cluster Lights

Finally got around to changing some dead and dying instrument cluster lights yesterday. Haynes reads, 3 screws and remove the cowling front for access to the cluster. Not on my car! There was a fourth screw under the cowling that could only be reached by removing the four screws that secure...

    Springs and Struts

Shame on me, should have thought of them being drilled for the fluid. I knew they were supposed to do that. Had another look and could see where the drill bit hit the inside. Holes drilled in different places, also. Thanks for the replys. S

    Springs and Struts

A few days ago I bought a pair of springs and struts at the scrap yard to fool around with. When I removed one and set it on the ground, hydraulic oil leaked from the hole on the side of the strut(!). So, my question is (no such thing as a stupid question, just another way to learn something)...

    cam cover bolts???

Allen Head Bolts... ...make a nice job of it. Size 6X1.0 and 25mm long worked for me and I got them from a proper motor factors. All of the old screws were just over 25mm in length but Craig might be right about different lengths. Best check against the old ones. s

    Some people really can't DRIVE!

No Song and Dance Sometimes, Layla, it's therapeutic just to have a good rant about something rather than keep it bottled up inside. Vent your spleen a bit and move on. Almost everyone does it from time to time. S
