My constant squeeking was sorted once I used silicone lube on all my rear suspension bushes. I tried everything like spare wheel etc and it did not go away until I did the bushes.

Just replaced one of mine today and this guide helped loads. I too could not get the cv joint to come off the drive shaft but I used a stretch boot any how and used a fitting cone so no worries really. Job done(Y)

I think its actually doing ok really as its 12 years old and cost 800 quid so its all round cheap. Just a shame fuel is so pricey and it aint gonna come down only up:(

Yeah It sounds like the exhause heat sheild rattling with the gear lever or could be the return spring. The joys of a 12 yr old motor I guess. Be more fun doing these jobs if it was a tad warmer too lol.
