check the bottom ball joints , they used to click on one of my cars when they went , was very noticeable on roundabouts . ball joints tend to do a single click , CV's make a series of heavier clicks and knocks .

thanks for that , but what is confusing me now is which sensor supplies the ECU .... there appears to be 2 close together on the thermostat housing and some threads say one is for the temp gauge and one for the ecu .

Any one know what the resistance of the engine temp sensor should be when it is hot or cold ... I have just measured 1.6K ohm on a hot engine . I am getting some cold running problems , the engine will not pull properly until it has warmed up a bit . Thanks

whilst on the subject .. I fitted a multicolour led in the roof light ..its out of one of those mood lights which slowley change colour ..you just need a 1K ohn resistor and you have a car thats lit up inside at night with slowly changing colours !!!!
