I always keep an eye on rust proofing the metal work , if I am around the car I have a old paint brush in a pot of new engine oil , and I just brush some oil around the top of the panel ..gravity does the rest .

remove the wiper blades and the black plastic cover , and you will see a green clip placed under the edge of the glass , placed above the blower inlet . also a good idea to check all the paint work and oil the wiper mech at the same time before putting everything back .

Is it worth removing the filter from the heating to improve the airfow ? Should I just take it out and cut out the filter paper ? I wonder this as I do a bit of motorway driving and it bugs me to have to use the blower motor despite being on the motorway .Is this a thing with "modern" cars or...

put engine on supports , remove front bodywork and disconnect car from engine , lift and wheel car away , .. then if required take engine off the transmission . Sounds simpler than it is but its what I would do . .

be carefull when running the engine if the water is getting into the bores , it may lock the engine when starting it , may even bend a rod , also the water will wash the oil off the bore causing piston wear and its resulting piston slap .

just might be worth checking the thermostat still works ok before stripping the block down , it may of got overheated and now sticks . May not be opening fully ??

one symtom of head gasket failure is that the coolant pipes can go very hard , despite the engine not being warm , as the engine pressurises the coolant system . worth a check ? may even pump coolant back into the overflow bottle as a result ? try also ruuning the engine and check for bubbles...

I would look at the routing of the cable harness and see if it has chaffed onto the bodywork anywhere , dont go shaking every wire at once , just connect up the meter to the guilty wire and go round the harness bit at a time and see if the fault suddenly clears ... I have never seen a short in...

had to fix the tailgate wiring today on one of the Micra's . The wiper had stopped working as well as the number plate lights . Confirmed it was the wires by opening the tailgate and wiggling the wires , which caused the wiper to work . The wires are located on the right hand side of the car ...

Looking at that guide , I would be tempted to run some wires from the plug socket connections to the daughter board connections on the main board , a bit more fiddly but it would bypass the solder joints that tend to crack .

yep , just pulled down with the straps , but i can certainly rock the car by holding onto the roof rack and nothing budges either .. had look at some of the products offered for the micra , the rear bars certainly look like they struggle to stay on this model with the sealed rear windows .. it...

wear some rubber gloves that are used on the wards , brill then just strip thme off when you are finished ... and keep a set in the car for changing the spare

I made use of a old gutter mount roof rack , I put some rubber inner tube on the feet and then I mounted it in the roof grooves , then pulled it down with the aid a racket strap , the strap is anchored on the seat belt mounting , the 2 side bars drop onto some bolts mounted verticaly in the roof...

no , it was a welding accident . even had the "fortune" to see it burn !! the workshop is a mess as well , smoke and water damage , heat damage to roof .. but no one got hurt . just a question of the garage getting sorted and us choosing another car .

due to a accident at the garage our oldest micra was lost .. garage has supplied a replacement but it is shocking how much a car burns up , there is absolutely nothing left inside but ash and metal brackets
