Why are there holes in the water pump?

I've just had my water pump off, cleaned it up put it on with lots of liquid gasket, assuming it was leaking around the seal between the pump and the block. However, having put it back in, I filled it back up with coolant and now that its clean I can see its not leaking around the gasket, its...

    My new car

Yeah, I've heard they handle very well until you get to the point where the back end slides. They can be controlled but its quite hard from what I've heard, mind you, so are old porshe 911's and they're great cars. I've always loved the look of the MR2, the only thing that put me off buying...

How Not To Park A 350Z

Ah, the joys of RWD and rain. I've come very close to that in my 200sx, mainly my fault. My guess would be that matey boy in his 350z thought he'd try his hand at drifting. The first time I tried it, I very nearly ended up in railings very similar to those. I'd imagine he's learnt his lesson.

    Seat dying?

You can take the fabric off the seats! Thats music to my ears, I think someone may have been murdered in my car before I got it, it looks like the car interior in pulp fiction

    My Horn

You'll have to change the whole horn. These ones are very cool. http://videos.streetfire.net/search/horn/0/DAFBBF1C-7796-4D17-AE4A-59455DA39AD4.htm

3 Cack jobs left to get through MOT

If I ever get round to doing this, I'll write a guide up. The CV joint is definitely a failure, just a split boot alone is a failure, so a mangled boot with clunking noises on cornering is definitely a failure! As for the water pump gasket, its not so much a failure as undrivable until I...

    blower not working

Annoying isn't it. Mines doing exactly the same. I can tell you I went down the scrappy and got another resistor card. This didn't fix it. I'm going down the scrappy again later this week, possibly tomorrow, I'll take everything from behind the glove box of one of the micras in there and...

3 Cack jobs left to get through MOT

Its come down to the last 3 jobs on my £130 Micra to get it though its MOT, I've fixed everything else. The last three jobs are all things I'm not looking forward to: Change a CV joint Replace the waterpump gasket Repair the reversing light sender in the gearbox They are all nasty...

    Hello I'm a newbie hear.

Just did that this afternoon. Cleaned the plate all up scraped the old liquid gasket off, put nice new blue stuff on and bolted it back in. That won't leak for a while. Shame the stuff takes 24 hours to dry

    Hello I'm a newbie hear.

Rik you beat me to my last post. Just the advice I was after. Glad I didn't start taking it apart from inside the car! Cheers. One problem down, just the running water and broken heater fan to fix. I'll order a new fuel filter off eBay as I probably need one anyways after 150,000 miles...

    Hello I'm a newbie hear.

Thanks for the advice, the fan doesn't work at all and the fuse is ok. I've noticed that the engine revs drop at idle slightly when I turn it off, so this probably points to a duff motor (I'll head back to the scrapyard me thinks). Is it just a case of replacing the black box thingy behind the...

    Hello I'm a newbie hear.

First of all, hello to you all, I'm normally found on the SXOC but have recently purchased a Micra K11 1.0L as a run about (my 200sx only does 20mpg and can't get over the speedbumps at college). The Micra I bought is a 1.0 Mauritius with 150,000 miles on the clock! I paid £130 for it. Its...
