    What Spark Plugs for K10

sparky I dont know the answer to your question im afraid. But there is a simple way to find out. Pop into your nearest Halfords and use their spark plug fittment book that should be attached to the shelf next to the spark plugs. This will tell you the type you need for your K10. Craig

    k10 gearbox ratio

diff ratios Looking at the Nissan electronic parts catalogue, there is a bewildering array of different gearboxes, and internal gearbox parts. The numbers RS5F41A refer to the 5 speed box and RN4F40A the 4 speed. The internal ratios could be anything though. They mix and match depending on the...

    lighter bottom pulley

Pulley Thanks for the tip Bob. Which alternator did you use? Do the later 1.0 alternators have a ribed belt instead of a vee belt drive? Thanks Craig

    no heating

heating Its usually that the cable that operates the heater box has become disconected at one end or the other. Have agood look under and inside the heater controls to try and see if the cable is moveing when you operate the lever. Craig

    lighter bottom pulley

Pulley Thanks for the info. The prefacelift engines use a Vee-belt alternator drive, so I assume that is what you mean by having to use the matching alternator? But dont the facelift 1.0 engines use the same ribbed alternator belt as the 1.2's? Craig

    K10 Ma12 Autograss Class2

cams Looking at the figures given, assuming that they were measured in the same way, the 1.2 cam has a duration of 232 degrees and the 1.0 cam has a duration of 236. Fordy, could you get the cam timing figures for the 1.0 engine in the same format so that we could be sure? We also know from...

    lighter bottom pulley

pulley Have you actually done this? Did the 1.0 pulley bolt straight onto the 1.2 engine? They are the same offset and size? Thanks Craig

    Exhaust K10 Help

exhaust The backbox itself on a K10 is 30cm long, and there isnt much room for much else. You will have to weld or attach mounting brackets to it somehow. Take a look under your car and you will see what needs to be done. Craig

    k10 stripping

Lightweight Just a few ideas: Obviously the lightest model in the range is the one to go for, or strip down your car to that level. Think of all the optional extras you could live without: sunroof boot release radio, speakers and Ariel left wing mirror rear wash wipe clock mud flaps...

Autograss Class 2 micra step by step

weight The Haynes manual will most likely quote the manufacturers 'dry' weight, which wont include oil, water or fuel (about 40kg total I would guess) plus will be for the lightest, most basic model in the range. Once you have added the weight of the fluids and optional extras such as the 2nd...

Autograss Class 2 micra step by step

As standard a 1.2 K10 would be about 750kg and supposedly has 60bhp, thats 80bhp per ton. If you get your racer down to say 500kg and managed to squeeze 90bhp from the engine, thats 180bhp per ton. Hmmm, about the same as a Honda S2000!

    Few Q's

Logie There are no easy 'drop in' engine conversions for the K10 im afraid. You have the choice of the standard 1.0 or 1.2 engines. With quite a bit of work one of those should be able to put out about 120bhp and you should be able to get the car down to about 650kg. There was a rare (not...

    Unusually Modified MA12 needs parts

Kieran The dished piston doesnt make any difference to the capacity of the engine. If you are using the MA12 block which i think has a 71mm bore and a MA10 crank with a 68mm stroke (?) then the capacity will work out to be 1077cc.

Back on topic sort of. Is that a Aberystwyth number? Does he build a lot of these manifolds or was that just one off?

    this just cost me £10

Thats exactly why I was wondering. If the standard clutch is okay then there is no point going for the Nismo clutch which would be very expensive to buy and import.

    this just cost me £10

Thats interesting, I didnt think they made a gripper diff for the K10, is it intended for a different model but just happens to fit the K10? What else have they done to the gearbox to make it stronger? How does the clutch hold out? Sounds an interesting project keep us updated. Craig

    Unusually Modified MA12 needs parts

Class 4 autograss You would be best off telling us what you have already. What inlet and exhaust manifolds are you using, what work you have had done to the head and what rpm limit are you running to? Oversize pistons- Nissan do them, but they do not increase the capacity much (I think they...
