The first four gears of the long ratio 5 speed are the same as the 4 speed box I believe. I used to have the 4 speed, now switched to a 5 speed long ratio. There are 2 versions of the ma10, a 50bhp version and a 55bhp version. Mine's a 50bhp, so I guess the extra 5 horses are those precious...

I did 160km/h (100mph) once, but it was a bit downhill. My k10 1.0 has about 95000 miles on the clock and is well maintained. I can shift pretty quick but my best was 0-60 in about 17 seconds. How the hell did you squeeze an 11 second 0-60 out of an all stock ma10 ?

How do you roll the inner lip if u have an super s kit ?

Thanks, but my car is a white 1987 1.0 dx, with black super s kit :wasntme: So the plate sais white :( But need the bumper inner metal thing too, so gonna go to the scrappy now, and there's a black super s there. I'll look it up over there. Thanks ! Ne1LL.

Ok, tested the car with an ma12 carb properly setup. Gives a small but yet noticable gain in low revs (below 3000 rpm), but doesn't give any gain in high torque (Was hoping it would though). Will try to make the needle bigger by gently drilling it. Will tell later if it worked out...

Okay, I fitted a ma12 inlet + carb on my ma10 engine today. Will test it tomorrow. Just wanted to say that the ma10 and ma12 inlet manifold are exactly the same. I have been told here that the ma10 manifold was twisted and the ma12 manifold was smooth, well, they're both smooth !! Ta, Ne1LL

How did you make the inlet ? and that's a twin weber setup, like the one kev tried once, right ? Did you get that set up properly ?

How is it possible to have 5 speed gearboxes in both '88 1.0 micra's I thought only 1.2 liter engine's had these ?

I have the stock ones and they are very strong, boot never fell down, not even in the cold, and the car is a '87 micra dx !! :laugh: I think you guys just need new original ones, not sure about micra man though...

I had that exact problem. You have to check the contact breaker points of the ignition, and if needed, replace them. If you do, change the condenser also, otherwise it might give some trouble in the future (had it before). Good luck !
