    just a quick question

Our 93 doesn't have one. I was told that only the NATS fitted ones had an engine light. I was going to find the time to ask if a light can be retrofitted.

    Central Locking fault

Hi there, the passenger door keeps locking and unlocking itself as you drive along. I've found the faulty part and its in the drivers door. The part is fitted into the locking mechanism, with a two wire connector coming off it. Is this part a Central Locking Actuautor?, if it is Nissan have...

    Track-rod end

Job done, thanks for the confidence boost Frank. So much easier than an Astra. -

    concerning rattle......

Your steering noise sounds like the outer cv joint. Check if the boot is gone? If the boot looks ok try and push it along the drive shaft, re-pack the joint and re-clip the boot. If the noise then goes away to may just need a new CV joint. Would try and diagnose the engine fault first as that...

    Track-rod end

Thanks Frank, i didn't think they could be as bad as the Astra ones!! Regards Mark

    Track-rod end

Hello there, After investigating a clunking on the car today i've found a track-rod end with loads of play in it? Are these easy enough to change on a K11 (or are they renown for being a pain?), i'm used to changing them on an Astra which can be a real pain. The steering arm is a lot lower on...

Is My Heater Card Totally Goosed?

I would be careful about fixing these cards. Fair play to you if you can get it to work but i would opt for a replacement every time. Trouble is most cards in the scrapyard are blown too.

    Which fuse(other issue?)

Have you put a new radio in recently? I fitted one then half an hour into a journey that included the stereo and headlights being on the fuse for the back lights/dash illumination would pop. Odd that the stereo would go off at the same time but would also turn back on? Cured that my fitting a...

    light problem :(

We had the same headlight problem as i mentioned in my first post. It seemed to have a bad connection which melted it. I chopped one off a Micra at the scrapyard and fitted that which has been fine since. We wern't blowing fuses though, the lights would just go off. Also check the fusebox that...

    light problem :(

Sounds like there may be a bad earth in the cluster and if that isn't the actual fault it may not be helping. Those connections on the clusters dont take much to cause problems

    light problem :(

As above, go over what you've done. Also make sure you've put the correct bulb in? I've seen people fit a twin element bulb into a single element holder etc which is so easy to do and causes so many alarming problems. Check the headlight connection and make sure nothing is melted on the loom...

Parking lights and dashboard lights dead

Ours went more peculiar. I'm no electrician but after i fitted the new earth i decided to re-trace my steps and wire the old earth to the new earth. I did this just incase the old earth was bad and other components may struggle at a later stage. As soon as i wired the earths together the fuse...

Parking lights and dashboard lights dead

Hi there, i've fitted many stereos in the past and never had a problem until i fitted one to our 1993 Super S. I had a similar problem to you. The stereo worked fine until we came to use the headlights a few days later. After the lights had been on for a few minutes we lost the dash lights and...

    Super S Digital Clock

Slimothy: Forgive me if i'm wrong as this is from memory. If you look at the sonsole under the speedo, to the left you have a battery and oil pressure light. Symetrically to the right of the speedo (across from the battery and oil pressure) you should be able to make out two displays that dont...

    argh...gearbox problems! :-(

You should be able to follow the leak without cleaning it up, just follow the mess upwards! On my vaux the diff seal is simply a case of: Hun hub off, ball joint seperated and pinch the drive shaft out of the diff. Then you can butcher the old seal out and tap the new-one in. I'm sure the...

    Super S Digital Clock

It's a bit like that i guess!! Probably miles left though!! When you have the back off the dash to change that clock bulb, change the bulb for the fuel light just to make sure it works. I'm sure if you shine a torch across the back of the bulbs you can see what message the bulb lights up.

    argh...gearbox problems! :-(

Hi mate, sorry to swear but i've got a vauxhall mind going here but your problem has the symptoms of gear linkages being worn. I had similar selection problems on my Astra, a £2 part later and it was changing gear 100% The spring on our Micra gearbox has never worked and we haven't had any...

    Super S Digital Clock

I'd say pretty low mate, our light glows dimly for starters then gets brighter as the situation gets more desperate! As above though, the needle has to be virtually on the stop for the light to come on

    Car running so rough

Im sure the holes on the dizzy are elongated so that the timing is adjustable. You may have inadvertantly altered the timing. Did you remove any induction parts?, you may have got an air leak?

    argh...gearbox problems! :-(

Trace the oil leak and see where it's coming from. You'll probably trace it back to one of the oil seals on the diff. There less than a tenner from the dealer and are quickly replaced in a garage. If youre ever in doubt then change the cheapest thing first. Clutches on these cars are pretty...
