Hi Alann, I read somewhere that if the fuel cap is not tightened enough it can cause the MIL to come on. Check that your fuel cap is securely tightened ratcheting clicks can be heard when the cap is sufficiently tightened.

Hi Alan, Welcome to the forums! I've read in my micra manual that if the MIL (malfunction indicator light) comes on it may be due to a problem with the emission control system and it reccomends to get it checked as soon as possible to avoid damage to the system. So that might be your problem...

In the UK we have a 160SR K12 Micra a 1.6l sporty looking Micra. SR meaning 'Street Racer'. I think it has since been replaced by Micra 'Sport'.

it's a Manual. i get a bit scared when the fuel warning light comes on so i go to the nearest fuel station to fill-up. In the micra manual it states that there is about 1.1 gallons/5 litres of fuel left when the fuel warning light comes on. I'd prefer not to let it run lower than 5 litres anyway...

Hi all. I reset the trip meter in my 1.0l micra twister when i refuelled. I refuelled right up to the brim. I travelled 325 miles/523 km before the fuel warning light came on again. Is that good fuel consumption?
