ouch...lucky! no oil pressure gauge I guess?

fair enough, the haltec platinum is a good thing and probably what I would go if the standard ECU can't do what I need....but I expect to be able to tune the delivered rom enough (fingers crossed). Motec obviously excellent but too expensive for anything but a top line race car

what's the decision, why not remap the standard ecu?

Injector options ? Probably one for Ed

ahh OK thanks Ed. I'ev got a heap of gtr(same as gtir) injectors around so they would suit me. The ECU part is bad news though, I guess I will need to move to a stand alone ecu to run it all properly because I have not heard of any plug in options for ma09. blow by is terrible and it is using...

Injector options ? Probably one for Ed

good to hear the emanage is up to it, we have a few here but not too popular compared to stand alone replacements. I haven't yet had the ecu remapped but the guy who does stuff for me has done heaps of nissan remaps over the years, I am hoping he can crack this one too...if not maybe ed will be...

Injector options ? Probably one for Ed

no idea on direct fit for the radiator...but I am going to get a custom one made up by a local bunch called PWR ("P"robably "W"rong "R"adiator, after their total inability to get a single order right the first time). when they do get it right they are a good thing though. good to hear the...

Injector options ? Probably one for Ed

I like how you think Barry Careful with the larger manifold, I went that way but we ended up with too little room for the dump pipe off the turbo and had to start again.

    switching valve

ahh that is a thread for another day....if it helps I got a spare motor from Marty with the car...and I has plans :D My mechanic knows a ST nut in japan and asked him to dust off some parts for me

    switching valve

ahh she needs a bit of a cleanup and maybe a paint job before facing autosalon. I did show it at the SAU show last december, as usual everyone was "wtf is that?". It's actually at the mechanic atm getting a new (bigger) turbo on. And some other toys coming from japan :D pm sent

    The capability of an Ma09

yeah....only 3rd gear so no more than say 130km/h? still enough to crush the car like a tin can if it hits a tree.

    switching valve

omg its Marty. I remember you. hotx19....why twin charging? its a pretty difficult thing to do you would need a pretty good (or unusual) reason?

crazy! no roll cage :( guess the driver knows the road pretty well

    Spark plug gap??

only a guide...but I would start with 1.1 and gap it down to 0.9 or 0.8 if it is missfiring under high boost. larger gap will give better burn

    Fuel pump

in that case the walbro should do the job well, and cheap! just make sure you have good stong voltage and earth to it, even consider running new wiring (the original stuff is pretty old by now and will be dropping a fair few volts between alternator and fuel pump....)

    Charge cooling?? Opinions and Advice

sorry I'm not really disagreeing, and I also think the long inlet via a front mount introduces heaps of lag to throttle reponse. It's more than I don't have any ideas on how to fix it but still get decent cooling....the factory top mount cooler is a marginal solution and will never be enough...

    MickIRL's Micra/March's - You'll like this PIC HEAVY

love that dash! I thought the ST one looked dated but that takes it all to a whole new level. and dyno graph on the steering wheel!

    Charge cooling?? Opinions and Advice

sorry forgot to mention...the reason we are trying it is water temp problems. the average skyline has huge intercooler, oil cooler then radiator leaving little cool air. here we can mount the 2nd radiator in another air flow (boot) and free up cool air to the radiator. if you are looking...

    Charge cooling?? Opinions and Advice

We are building a skyline race car with a w2a cooler at the moment, 2 benefits in theory - more efficient than air to air and much shorter intake. In our case the w2a cooler is right next to the plenum so the intake becomes turbos, across the motor to cooler, to plenum in about 50cm. Also we...

    Charge cooling?? Opinions and Advice

I'm probably missing something...but which route? water to air cooling or something else? lots of links on that page.
