Its not a ST, but I thought I should introduce my new car

The rebuild of the ST is going slowly (parts not turning up on time), so it will be well after xmas before it comes home. So, in the meantime, I picked up a new daily, once again from the March family..... BZ11 Cube, based on a K12 micra. It joins the GTRs, Stagea and March ST, and...

    Profec A question

not familiar at all with profec A, I have a couple of profect b though. they use simple red for power, black for earth, white for unit earth (pulsed by control unit) and green for unit power (always on). got pics of the unit, or can you describe the other connections? BTW I've just ditched...

    Goes to show you.....

yahoo jp has some great deals. including really rare stuff. I picked up a nismo dash and epson ej1 for my stagea on there the other week, there were only a few hundred sold and this was in mint condition. not ST relevent but still very niche not sure how easy it is for UK guys to access...

    GTIR project

I'm always willing to try something different.....but unless you want crazy motor in the lightest possible car I think they are a bad match. gtir chasis has a real advantage with 4wd....and I just don't see how the ST/k10 chasis and front or rear suspension is a good idea with 250-300kw

    Cool...forged rebuild starting

Ed have you come across anything off the shelf before? I think you mentioned custom pistons and rods that you had mentioned before. The one we've dug up have probably been sitting around for years.

    Cool...forged rebuild starting

No probs R-REG-SR :D Baz, I will confirm the brand, but they are off the shelf jap...just been sitting on the shelf for a long time I think! The bloke used to run march cup race cars and is involved in a ST club over there.

    Cool...forged rebuild starting

For now this is really just a placeholder - I know not a lot of full lon rebuilds have been done/documented on here so I will add as many pics and specs as I can. When I bought the car from smidge, it came with 2 things: * Poor compression thru the rings and lots of oil leaks * Spare motor...

    ma12ert rebuild

absolutely agree.....and I love how you think :D do you have a detailed thread somewhere, I was seriously considering the same with a ma10 block but good, forged bottom ends are just too hard to get in Oz (no ma anythings were sold here). For racing use I need to keep capacity under 2.0l...

    Jae 2010

i agree full strip, clean, measure, re-assemble is the only safe thing. the question is still....what the hell happened in there! "sludge" does not belong in engines. If you really want to try and flush it, there are engine oil flushes available, or you can just run kero or diesel as oil...

    wanted part!!

it must be nice to be the solution, not the problem for a change.

lol somehow I missed heaps of posts before responding. given you just killed another one, probably oil pressure relief valve on the oil pump.

    Jae 2010

well you are past my (limited) expertise. oil filter either split due to manufacturing problem, or much more likely too much pressure. Max oil pressure is when starting the car cold. There is meant to be releif valves on the oil pump, and in most genuine oil filters. After pressure gets...
