    reverse light stopped working

Thanks Crack Fox, I have the same issue and haven't got round to getting under the car to test the switch - I'll start at the loom.

    AA warranty

Well so far I've had zero trouble with my K12... 1.4SE, it drives smooth, its not so slow, and everything works. Cost me £2k at a dealer earlier this year. Cheap insurance too, and cheaper tax than some. However, everyone on here seems to prefer the K11, which has no Renault in it which is...

    AA warranty

I spent 8 years in insurance. Warranty is much the same business. They'll do anything they can to not pay you a penny, and if they pay it'll be the bare minimum they can get away with. Find a policy before you buy, and you'll see the list of things they don't cover. I imagine a warranty will...

    Micra 100k service

    And I have a K12. Increasingly feeling like a leper :P

    AA warranty

Don't waste your money on warranty. All these companies are preying on peoples' current financial fears to make sure they get your slice of their pie. Particularly on an 03 car, they'll fob you off that anything that goes wrong is normal wear and tear. Didn't the mechanic plug in a diagnostic...

    Changing brake discs and pads

I didn't have a 15mm spanner. But now I have a new set so if we get a nice warm dry day this week, I'll get it done. It's not urgent - my current ones have more life left than I thought. I am a few days off having the money to buy shorter springs (decided to do that first, to see if I really...

    Micra coolant temp display

I don't know about installing separate pod gauges, but I'm considering a dash display that plugs in the OBD slot, which includes readouts for the coolant temp. For now though, I just trust that the red light will come on - I have a good habit of checking all my bulbs light up with the ignition.

    Yaris starting problem

Aw... If any part of my first Micra is still going, its doing very well :)

    Yaris starting problem

Sounds like it to me. Just because you charged it, doesn't mean it accepted the charge - to the best of my knowledge once a battery is fully discharged as yours was, that's the end of it.

want to see pics of your micras :)

    Very nice reeper!

want to see pics of your micras :)

I haven't don't much externally yet, but this is my motor. I just spent 4 hours cleaning and washing it - rinse, shampoo, clay bar, finishing up with Meguiars 3-step (cleaner, polish, wax) and some glass polish. Oh and of course some tyre blacking spray. Have to say it looks nice - and the...

    Petrol light

You need to first remove the steering wheel panels, which have screws at the bottom, then pull the trim out around the instrument panel. There are 2 screws on the front of the panel and one on the back once the trim is removed. Haynes recommend removing the battery negative lead first. Not a...

    Petrol light

Yes it comes on when you turn the key, and stays on until the needle moves up past the "nearly empty" position. Changing the bulb is easy enough, but I'll have to look up a guide to removing the instrument panel. Also you need the right bulb type.

    The Law of Sod

I just spent 90 minutes with a can of sticker remover and a Stanley knife, "carefully" removing the faded Nissan dealer sticker from the inside of my rear window. I've probably damaged the demister wire, but hey I can repair that if need be. Then I grabbed the MSC sticker from my...

    Failed on ebay

They obviously do, cos I just bought one ;) And despite everyone's negativity against the K12, I love it. So there. :p

    Nintendo Engine System

Well if you wanna be more up-to-date paint-wise, just plow into a lamp-post at 70mph and your engine block will be the right shape to paint up as an Xbox 360 pad!

    Mystery Smoke/Steam

That's excellent news - an easy fix, and no need for any arguments. The smell won't last more than a couple of days I expect, you can always clean it up with a good spray of Gunk degreaser.
