Micra going straight..... pulling left. Help!

If it was a private sale there's probably not a lot you can do - the basic rule I apply when buying a car is buyer beware. If it was a dealer, however, they have a duty to provide you with a road-safe car - which this clearly isn't! That's why I usually go to a dealer, as you have some...

    Mystery Smoke/Steam

I wonder if whoever fit the filter forgot to install the rubber seal.... I almost did it once, the seal was still in the box, and it was my first ever DIY oil change - I didn't put the seal on initially. Fortunately I noticed before it was too late ;) I would imagine the filter would seal...

Pouring out of the filter? Hopefully it's just a wrecked seal, and a new filter will sort it.

    Saw a 160SR yesterday

I'd need to drop a couple grand of this one's asking price. I don't drink (well, a couple of pints here and there), and I quit smoking a whole 18 months ago! It's ok, I love my SE ;)

    My progress so far

Click the insert image icon, which is the fourth one in the fourth section of the bottom row of icons above the reply box. Put the URL in the box that pops up. I like what you've started - black and white are a powerful combination in their own way. Personally the black bumpers don't work, it...

Very silly question from a first-time Micra owner...

I believe Vitus has it - I can't think of any other flap in the boot...

    Parts you Want/Needs from scrappy?

For those in the near-south, I tend to use Aylesbury Scrap Metal - they list all their cars online, and tend to list parts that are not available (as well as photos so you can see which bits are wrecked). Very useful, and good service. Branches in Aylesbury and Thame.

    rough noise after ignition

Certainly the Primera noise wasn't an issue, it was just a couple of seconds of rattle while the chain settled in and got a coating of oil. From what you described it sounds likely the same issue - especially as it does not continue beyond a brief moment.

Changing steering wheel/seats - airbag issues?

Does anyone here have any experience of changing their steering wheel or seats? Most specifically I wonder how you overcame any issues with the airbags going "missing" and the dash light coming on, which I assume would be an MOT fail as well as an annoyance.

Lol don't tell me things like this - I love my K12, and you're casting doubt in my mind ;)

    rough noise after ignition

Same happened on the Primera SR20DE, the timing chain would sometimes make a rattly/grindy noise for a couple of seconds at most while the oil started circulating. It was worse on cold mornings, and if the car had sat for a while. Can you pinpoint whereabouts the noise is coming from?

    Mystery Smoke/Steam

I work for a big public transport provider (in the interests of privacy I won't mention which one), and I'll tell you now I get free travel, but still drive to work at a cost of about £5 a day. The government has no interest in pushing people onto public transport - it's just an excuse to put...

    Mystery Smoke/Steam

Let's hope it's as simple as that! Like the creak I had yesterday that I was sure was my suspension failing that went away when I opened and closed the passenger door ;) Oil filter kinda makes sense, as if it's loose it might vibrate looser, causing the gradual worsening of symptoms as you've...

    Mystery Smoke/Steam

Oil will, depending on its age and your engine, be somewhere between the colour of honey or dark brown/black, and is fairly thick, again similar to honey. Coolant will almost definitely be yellow/green, and similar viscosity to water. If you actually intend to repair it (assuming it's...

They definitely don't look similar.... unless they're mixing before they leak. Which would be a problem.

Help getting wiring through the firewall?

To get the power through to my sub, I took the top of the dash off, and there's a rubber bung in the firewall behind the battery. I simply popped the bottom half of it off, and fed the wire through - it comes through a gap in the foam, and out behind the dashboard, from where I tucked it under...
