    Very interested in the answer to this as it's just about exactly what I want to do to my engine, what was the much flaffing about? Vacumn leaks obviously but anything else? Idle tune makes sense, much else to sort out? Your using the stock ECU from memory? right? No cams yet?

    Hey Rudy, the 3.789 that NZ_aj mentioned comes with a CD17 engined (Diesel 1.7lt) N14 according to his post, AFAIK these engines didn't come out to Australia so it's probably unlikely there's the right diff lurking in your N14.

    Apparently it's the Proton Saga that uses the 30 g/box. http://www.then16files.com/2010/11/mydm-n16-manual-transmission-horror.html It's only that reference I can find. I don't know that we got the 1st saga though, the S16 is here but it seems quite different.

    My gearbox with a 3.55 is taller, as I'm trying to make up for running 10 inch wheels, so if you wanted a highway cruiser you could try the same diff.
