ZE512's have good dry and wet grip and also pretty good water dispertion but the sidewalls are like jelly. They might be ok in 195/45r15 because of the tiny sidewall, but in 185/55r14 its terrible. I'm too scared to push them to the their traction limits - I'm worried they'll roll over and peel...

Yes it could also be the heatsheilds under the car, the heatsheilds on the cat converter and pipe from first cat to the second cat. I ripped the cat heatsheild and the pipe heatsheilds off - they rattled hardcore no matter what I did to them. I still get the odd vibration through the shifter...

All N14 and N15 calipers and discs fit onto the UK built micra easily. Just have to make sure the discs are centred in the caliper - as mentioned you do this by changing the position of the caliper with washers. Preferably high tensile or stainless steel washers. NOT mild steel/zincalume washers.

I agree. I have DBA slotted rotors on the front of my micra and the braking isnt that different to a standard rear disc setup micra. HOWEVER I do feel that the brake pads you use can make a huge difference and coupled with the slotted rotors you can actually get the standard brakes working...
