Interior cleanup and cracked panels repair

Ah I forgot to add that the original stereo wiring was messed up... it had the left -ve going to the right speaker and the right -ve going to the left speaker. Not sure how much that matters, but it certainly sounds better now.

I was chasing down a leak one day.....

Looks like a small issue. My vote is to repair it.

Speaker on drivers side of Micra has no sound?

The door card needs to come off to access the speaker. The plastic speaker grille and storage compartment slots are held by screws from behind the door card. Door card is easy to remove. Total 6 philip screws to undo. Can be done within 15 minutes. Lift up your door handle and you should be...

My White Micra K11 (1st Car)

Your car looks to be in great shape, at least from the outside. I personally wouldn't repaint the black plastic trims but I guess that's up to the individual. I would get the grilles wrapped in matte black though. It just sticks out in chrome (b/c no other part of the car is chrome.) Have fun...

Interior cleanup and cracked panels repair

Well, we don't have a choice really :( How many cars can you put on a piece of land roughly 50+km wide and 40+km tall with a population of 5 million? Hmm...

Interior cleanup and cracked panels repair

Here's the wiring chart I made. Ignore the stereo side. I had the Micra side figured out, including polarity. This is after some fair bit of Google-ing. In case it's too messy to understand: - Red+Black Stripe = Constant 12V (+) Blue+Silver Stripe = Ignition / ACC (+) Black+Red Stripe = F...

Speaker on drivers side of Micra has no sound?

Just make sure you don't have horrible wiring like the one I uncovered in my Micra: http://www.micra.org.uk/threads/interior-cleanup-and-cracked-panels-repair.61535/

    Wideband AFR Reader

It's certainly OK to poke it in the exhaust since I've seen people doing that but from what I've heard the nearer it is to the engine the more accurate it becomes. Are you intending to use it temporarily or leave it permanently in the exhaust with a dial on your dash?

Ugh, wrong forum -- admin please help move this to the mechanical section.

Burst high pressure power steering pipe

I had a leaky pipe, and mechanic replaced with an aftermarket one which came apart after one day of driving. What a mess. I'm thinking... how easy/difficult is it to make this car non-power assisted? Is all I need a shorter belt, or do the non-power assisted racks differ?

Interior cleanup and cracked panels repair

While removing the door panels I saw two wires running from what I think is the master lock relay. (Look closely right above the speaker there's a pair of green + blue wires) (FWIW -- I also wrote a short guide on removing the door panel in another thread here...

Interior cleanup and cracked panels repair

Bought some fiber tape and epoxy from a local hardware store. The 3M fiber tape is expensive; it's possible to get cheaper ones from RC hobby shops -- they use them to reinforce foam planes. I was just lazy to go all out to buy a $2 roll of tape. Small strips of fiber tape as reinforcement...

Interior cleanup and cracked panels repair

I got this car from a workshop owner and it was filled with grease stains and cracked panels. Started taking the interior apart and brought them home for a wash. Thought I should share, and maybe make this a documentation of my journey with this car. Unfortunately due to the tax system here in...

Really bad FC - 8km/l or 18mpg at best

Finally managed to get photos into my computer for upload. See the connector for O2 sensor -- has only one wire. I found the part number on nissan.epc-data.com (this site is such a gem!) for my original CG10 engine: Nissan 22690-0U000 or Bosch 0-258-986-501 Also found my temp sensor...

name of the bulbs in the back of the dials ?

You mean the instrument dials? Those are T10 bulbs. I ordered some LED ones from eBay, and even specifically ordered ones with flat top + inverted dispersion pattern so they do not create hotspots but they still turned out like crap -- too dim, and the color was not nice. If you are intending...

IN NEED OF HELP! ENGINE PROBLEMS!

My old K11 had similar issues and it all started with a seized water pump, then after that it was the head gasket. If you pay attention you might hear the sound of boiling water when you stop the engine after a drive (+ engine warmed up). And like r-reg-sr said if you see water gush out with...

Really bad FC - 8km/l or 18mpg at best

I also forgot to mention that my O2 sensor has only one wire. The plug has two pins. I've been searching online and I see 3 and 4 wire replacement parts, but never a one wire replacement. I understand from some reading that the 3-wire ones have two wires for the heater. It's always hot here in...

Really bad FC - 8km/l or 18mpg at best

My consult cable has not arrived yet :( I've been searching and reading the many many threads on fuel economy, and I've got a rough sense of what I should check. I disconnected my O2 sensor and drove around for the week with it disconnected. The fuel economy have seemed to have improved a...
