Why not just get a full system with a high flow cat? Is cost an issue? What are the rules surrounding exhaust systems? a 2 inch cat back will make a difference. Given that you're racing though you probably want every advantage possible.

the amount of corrosion on that gasket doesnt surprise me at all that it hadnt been leaking for a while. you should get the head resurfaced and do your top end gaskets while you're at it. clean up the surface of the block too but really be careful not to score it and dont use anything too...

at least 36 id put in them. i run most cars at 40psi but micra being so light at least 36. even if you kept it 32 in the rear if you dont carry passengers/cargo very often.
