thanks frank, is it possible that the starter is missing the flywheel?

i fitted it my self, i just tried starting it there and it goes click then click and so on but speeds up

yes i put it together myself, i no where the motor is, i removed it then refitted it and it goes to turn then just clicks as if it gets stuck but if your keep the starter on it will spin

probably not connected then frank but i didnt see anything not connected. would the starter turn at all if the earth was disconnected surely not

i presume so there the round connector with the rubber bit-earth and a spade which is the power i think
