Morning all. Brakes went last night caused by something in the drivers side rear brake drum failing and leaking all the fluid out and I haven't got the time to be dismantling it to fix whatever is busted so i'm after the drum/hub assembly complete so I can just unbolt from the suspension and...

cheers for the reply pollyp ... well finally got it off lol ... did what u said above ... knocked the lip until exposed then grab twisted and pull the lip off grr ... the last person who had refitted it had stuck it in with go knows what was i had to chisel right round the hole main big circle...

you know your a micra owner when you pursuade your brother, sister and mum to all get one ... we now have a 3 door 1.0 a 5 door 1.0 a 3 door 1.3 and a 5 door 1.3 between us ... the neighbours must think we are breeding them :laugh:

right well went to fill it up today and couldnt get the damn speedo drive off ... the top part (with the cable) unscrews and then comes off then i remove the 10mm bolt that holds the part bolted into the gearbox then its supposed to just pull off but nooooooo ... stuck fast ... am i missing...

Morning all, My sister brought her 98 1.0 round to me yesterday complaining of a intermittent 'whoomping' noise when driving ... so suspecting a worn wheel bearing I took it for a drive but it seems to be coming from the gearbox. The noise is very noticeable and does sound like a very loud...

Servicing my sisters 1.0 K11 at the weekend and managed to crack the top of her coolant expansion tank (water tank on the right hand side of the engine bay with the single pipe connected to it from the rad cap) so am in need of another one. Anyone?

ok now turns out it was a combination of both the thermostat and the gauge temp sender ... so I need a new sensor ... local autofactors quote just under a tenner and nissan want over 30 quid ... am i safe enough with an unofficial part or am i better off sticking with nissan bits?

cheers chaps ... have identified everything ... themostat for my temp problem ... driveshaft oil seal for my leak and it is the release bearing for the noise ... so an easy fix for the first two ... as for the release bearing is it a problem being noisy or is it something I should address?

is it possible to do the old trick of connecting the single pin to ground to test if the gauge is at fault or the sensor?

got some prices on temp sensor and thermostat and both under a tenner so might just replace the two anyways ... as for the gearbox leak im just gona clean it up and wait and see where its coming from if at all ... also the gearbox whines a little when in neutural ... whats the standard...
