I used to work at a cylinder head reconditioning place and they fixed ali heads worse than that all the time. They grind out all the rotten metal and then weld it back up... Maybe there's someone near you who could fix it rather than junk it?

I've seen this in the flesh... It is a Super S with sunroof but the previous owner had stripped all the other Super S trim bits off the car (interior and exterior). And it's had a re-spray which would be why you can't see the 'Super S' sticker on the back. It did look like a nice tidy car...
