    Please help: rear brake leaking

New shoes for that probably not cost a great deal of money... if you've already dismantled it fitting new shoes would be good preventative maintenance. I'd be inclined to burn through a can of brake/clutch cleaner and reassemble.... but then I'm a cowboy on my own car sometimes since your...

    Micra Automatic

Automatics are a nice drive. You gets lot of time to think and you aren't constantly changing gear! Like anything, if you buy a twenty year old car it won't be hugely reliable and even less so for automatics of that vintage. Prone to gearbox issues in London style traffic conditions. Unlike a...

    Hi all...new here although....

Very nice, I got the bug from my wife. A k11 was her first car and one day many years later we had the opportunity to buy her first car back and we did! Very sentimental towards it. Great little cars and good fun!

    Oh dear, gearbox trouble.

Outer cv joints tend to click when turning when they go bad or there is dirt in the joint or the grease and rubber have deteriorated. The inner cv joint doesn't really click but it may be possible to identify from excessive engine vibration especially at idle and sometimes a grumble noise...

    Oh dear, gearbox trouble.

No matter what happens in your instances, if it's within an affordable budget at the time of the repair and you intend to keep the car it's generally thought to be wise to swap out the clutch with a new kit as a service item... getting the gearbox off in future would only be the preparation in...

    Biting Point

Try the clutch test once or twice and if it doesn't slip, I wouldn't adjust it unless it needs it or makes it easier for you to drive. Particularly on older cars, sometimes a bit of tinkering can lead to more repair work lol

    Biting Point

A good driver with appropriate clutch control can get many miles out of a clutch. On my van I got 220000 out of the original clutch and even when is amazingly high I still drove it for a year or so. A clutch needs to be replaced in only a few situations really. When doing an engine overhaul a...

    Blog: K11 - Uniraid 2018.

Gearbox sizes and clutch sizes don't vary wildly from car to car and even with the greater power output you'll probably find the exact same clutch will also be standard on vehicles with twice as much hp from the factory. LUK are good solid kits. Will be fine I think...

    New person!

What sort of modifications are you going for? Most people usually modify for either looks or performance... I'd say most people go for a combination of both... For performance upgrades which are quite simple and DIY a good air intake system can boost performance as can an good exhaust system...

    ball joints

As with an suspension part it's a lottery how tight those bolts will be! But I can say that a proper penetrating oil and and a breaker bar or a long ratchet are usually a good idea. Doesn't mean you can't get the job done with a spanner but your knuckles might bleed from my experience lol. For...
