Clearly didn't search well enough! It's got drums on the rear, so doesn't seem to have ever been fitted with ABS... So it's only down to power steering...

Ended up ordering Sachs shocks (gas) and KYB springs... Shocks on amazon (oddly the cheapest place) and springs on a random German site... if all goes well, I'll post links here.

I'm reasonably confident my K11 has ABS, but no power steering... Any suggestions on the easiest way to check? M.

Checked that, but all the listings have the same springs for both the petrol and diesel ones, which isn't what I need. After some googling, these seem to fit the diesel model, but aren't advertised for the petrol, so should be right. Front Springs: KYB RA3936 Sachs 998 281 Monroe SP2729

It's the rubbing that worries me... think I may stick with some van tyres on the 14s at stock dimensions and then have the off road ones on the 13s. Think. Does that sound reasonable? M.

Bringing up an old thread - that figure of 600mm being the limit, by how much can I push that? My shortlist is: 165/80/13 (594mm diameter, 18mm height gain over the stock tyres) 185/80/14 (651mm diameter, 47mm height gain over the stock tyres) Do you think I can get away with the 651mm...

Found one that is rated to the same speed as mousse (which was my alternative... but mousse is just so expensive, especially when fitted to 10 wheels) that does US army vehicles and rallies... should do the trick :D Will post comments here in due course.

That's not too bad then... any negatives? Saw a video of one of the products keeping a tyre inflated after being shot by an ak47, which I hope wont happen to us :p Going to see if I can get a company to sponsor us then; would be good to get something mutually beneficial there... M.

Has anyone had experience with the puncture gel (slime in halfords) that gets squeezed into tyres? Looks like it has a lot of advantages based on the adverts... but what are the downsides? Thinking of putting some in all 10 tyres for the Mongol... EDIT: Ultraseal seems to get better reviews...

I'm looking for some forest stage tyres for the 13" steelies for my K11. That said, I was wondering if I can fit 165 or even 175 tyres to the steelies (stocks ae 155/60/13 if memory serves.). I was thinking of fitting 165/80/13 to give it a little more rubber to chew, lift the car a little...

How many bars/feet does it have? The one for the non opening windows has 4 bars, and 6 feet (odd, I know). Picture attached to explain... I may be stuck with just drilling holes into the roof and welding something on...

If they'll fit a 3door k11 with fixed rear windows; I'll have them! Almost bought a set before finding out that they were for an opening rear window k11... M
