    Which engine is it?

I've been told there is a 1600 Nisan engine which is smaller than teh normal 1600 engine, is same length as a 1300 and is a straight fit into the engine bay. (No cutting the chasis rail). In fact externally you can't see th edifference from the 1300. I was told by a gent that he got one out...

Wanted Speedo drive for Viscous diff gearbox

I'm looking for a speedometer drive for a gearbox with a Viscous differential, preferably a mechanical drive. I have changed the gerbox in my car from a standard box and the old drive doesn't mesh with the drive gear in the gearbox.

    Using Jack Stands and Adaptors

I've never had a problem with them slipping. But as a matter of course whenever I put a car on axle stands I give ait a good shove before going under it, just in case. My axle stands are not flat on top, they have quite a deep flat bottomed U shape if you see what I mean, similar to asdame's...

    Using Jack Stands and Adaptors

whatn I did was get a couple of pieces of wood just wide enough to fit the top of the axle stand, about 3 to 4 inches long and 2 to 3 inches thick. Along the length shape so it fits the bottom off the sill. Sounds posher than it is. Mine is just 2 saw cuts like a flat v. Across the bottom...

    wiring in gauges

Check you have a stabalizal voltage on the oil pressure guage. If the voltage is above the expected, the guage will read high. I had the same problem on a water temp garage some gears ago. Not sure where you should tap into on a Micra

    Oil Pressure Switch

Does anyone know the thread of the oil pressure switch on a 13300cc Micra. Mine has failed so I Thought I would replace it with a high pressure one (more warning if anything does go wrong). But looking in Demon Tweekes catalogue they list them by pressure and thread. Alternativley a does...

CISCO! What VLSD oil to use?

Does anyone know if there was a gearbox with a VLSD in the UK. Just wnderedif it would be a cheaper alternative to a gripper diff. I remeber all the hype about Viscous LSDS's when they first appeared in rallying (yes I can remeber that far back - just) I seem to remember the article said the...

Where have all the competition bits gone

Where have all the competition bits gone? There have been loads of Micra Rally cars. I've got my rally car handling well, but the standard engine isn't up the job. The post 98 1.0 gearbox has improved things, but I need more. But like everyone in rallying there is a lack of funds. There have...

    Newbie with a performance question

If you just want to get rid of the power steering, why not just take off the belt which drives the pump? That way if you don't notice the difference you can put it back on. You may also find the steering a bit heavy as power steering racks tend to be lower geared. Useful for the tightr stuff...

    LSD group buy

    Relocating battery question

I don't know if it is the same in Aus as in the UK. I have found that when I have been routing battery cables through the car it is easier and cheaper to use the thick coppewr cable tey use on arc welders. In teh UK it is sold by the metre in welding shops. It comes in various thicknesses...

What I would love from Japan next:

How about a close ratio gear set & LSD for my rally car (preferably for peanuts and delivered to the UK) Well you did ask and on my first event with my car we were woefully short of acceleration ;-)
