    New to Micra. Track tool

More weight over front wheels= understeer, not ideal in a track car. Its only my own opinion that sticking with a cg13 would be a good idea, everyone is different and will all have different ideas...thats why we have forums like this ;)

    New to Micra. Track tool

Banded steels, be alot lighter than alloy, look better and much cheaper to replace too. personally i wouldnt go above 7'' and probably 6'' is plenty wide enough. Stick with 13'' rims, will keep acceleration sharp. For tyres, id recommend yokohama A048's in a medium compound, someone else will...

    Gearbox ratios! Help

i dont get where your going with this, what size of an oval are you racing? how long are the straights and what revs are you currently pulling at the end of the straight?? The k10 box with 3.8 final drive is ideal for a big oval like tipperary, i dont know of any tracks with longer straight...

    Eire's 1L Micra

Looks more like a camber issue to me, lowering the car can cause unwanted (for most people anyway) negative camber, most people just check the toe settings and presume all is well, they forget that camber has a big effect on tire wear. Those tires look pretty perished anyway, NCT failure...

    Weighed my micra yesterday

one of my hotrods was 540kgs, other one was 470kgs, with running gear and cages.....got the dockets from the scrap yard the other day and nearly choked on my coffee when i saw how light they were..lol

    Will3's Micra K10 CGxxx

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/824/enginefit.jpg/ Not a great picture really but you get the idea of what i did. actually looked alot tidier when it was all finished. That cg10 engine had 207,000 miles on it when i pulled it out of the donor car!!!! still showed 70psi of oil pressure at...

what did you do to your micra today ?

WDID.....crushed 2 racecars, poor little k10's :(. On the plus side, i have made a bike carb manifold up for the cg13 engine, started filling and porting it tonight but gave up after realising that having the engine and manifold 10 miles apart wasnt ideal...lol. will post pics up as i go along...

    Will3's Micra K10 CGxxx

Id be very careful about welding that mounting if i was you.... visions of dripping rubber spring to mind. for my racer i just welded 2 6mm flat plates on a base and welded it to the chassis leg just in front of the original mounting, not overly pretty but very effective and it allowed the use...

    Micra K10 CG10/13 Swap

First think i can see missing is the eccs relay...should be a little green relay that has 2 thick wires and 2 thin wires into it (thick are green/white afaik and thin are red) this would have been very close the the 3 plug connectors that you unplugged. It is actually a very easy loom to wire...

    Keeping a cool head...lol

Anybody recommend a good o.e spec radiator to use for racing?? Have the cg10 in a k10 running on a twinchoke downdraft weber.....its a bloody rocket but runs very very hot, especially after a couple of races (7000rpm + constant for 12-15 laps of 1/4 mile oval) am using the rad from a 4efte...

    Gearbox ratios! Help

You racing ovals?? for 1/4 mile oval in rosegreen here in ireland i use the boxy k10 4 speed gearbox on the cg10, works perfectly....i just get valve bounce at the very last moment before its time to back off for the turn, according to rev counter thats 7900rpm (but probably closer to 7500). You...

    Carb conversion guide

Been looking for that link for a long time, could not remember where i had seen it before. Your a lifesaver...lol Have a k10 running cg10 on a weber carb but i dont find it all that great for racing so just got a set of cbr600 carbs to play with. Hopefully these with a good exhaust manifold will...

    k11 autograss car

Done this a couple of times now, at first i looked around at other micra hotrods and tried to see how they had it done, turns out it was a case of cutting and joining wires until it ran, not a very good way of doing things hahahaha. in the end i got the haynes manual and it turns out its as easy...

    Can K11's Be Diesel Flushed?

From a mechanics point of view it sounds like a stupid idea anyway, there are some very good oil treatments available these days and wont pose any risk to your engine. be wary though, in the past i found that even though the drain plugs are generally at the lowest point of the engine they still...

    Question: Legal Cheating...... ;)

i'll give it a go. just spent the whole afternoon reading the micro/maxi micra threads.....some food for thought in amongst it all. i especially liked the adjustable cam gears, very simple idea. Think a bit of tinkering with a spare engine is in order
