This is confusing. Here I have longer springs that don't bunch up (on the right) and shorter ones that do (left). My instinct tells me longer ones (right) at the front or that the idiots have sent me the wrong ones fwn

Did a quick no thrill spray of the wheels. Barely bothered to clean them... Before After And then did a bit of work on this idea I've had for a while... Contemplated other phrases or symbols (of course you would) but decided I don't want to get rammed off the road. Needs to be tinted...

And the winners are... porkpie700 and Daniel! Exhaust hunch was a good one. Put some exhaust paste where the mid section slots into the back box and it's not made the noise since. Strange because it sounded like it was coming from the front but you never know really. Thanks guys :grinning:

A friend asked me to look at his Saxo VTS the other day and same thing. I wasn't sure if HG cause no mayo around the oil cap but I think the giveaway way the black sludge dripping from rocker cover.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I do get a bit wide eyed for big fat wheels but I need to keep this car practical (for now) esp for work. I was thinking of either facelift K10 13" steelies or Polo 13" with the centre bored out. Not sure how easy it is to get decent tyres for either of those but...

Well it definitely needed some handling improvement as ending up with my limbs spread across a hedge would not be comfortable. Any ways I can balance it out? I'm going to keep to 12/13" steelies so I can have a good bit of tyre padding. Will wider wheels make it more or less harsh on the comfort?

Dammit. I already got KYB's :down: Bit annoying because the advertising bumf implies that they increase handling and comfort. I've had a good long look at powerflex but got confused about what ones to get and couldn't risk getting the wrong ones.

Yeah sure. They're Wipac 5 1/2" fog lamps with the chrome back (rubber also avail but more expensive). I got mine for £15 inc P+P on eBay. There are loads on there and some different covers available. Fitting the spots to the bumper bar was pretty easy. Used a dodgy drill and increased the drill...

Right so should be able to get this done later this week (finally) once karlj's generous donation of bump stops arrives. Just some questions... which is the front spring, which is the rear, and does it matter which way up they go (one looks symmetrical but the other has bunched up coils on one...

Yeah I'll do my best. Just got the spring compressors today so I should be able to get down to it later this week. There are some posts around here somewhere so whatever I do will be a bit of a 'best of'.

It does seem to be a bit useless. It doesn't stop dirt getting into the bell housing. Still not had any spare time to have a look at it! Fingers crossed for this evening :grinning:

Ah yes I know the part. Trickle little git that kept falling on the floor while I was trying to refit my gearbox back in jan. If it is that any tips on fixing it? I'm pretty certain it's got all the bolts and plugs going through it. Will be a bit worrying if the gearbox isnt tight onto the car :o
