    Rear wash/wipe switch

My '87 Colette is fitted with rear wiper and a washer nozzle but the washer has never worked since I've had it. Noticed the switch doesn't depress like the one I had on my old facelift GS. So today I found a new switch from a 1990 GS that does depress to activate the rear washer. Went to go fit...

what did you do to your micra today ?

Noticed a wheel nut has fallen off my front OS wheel :o Never had that happen before. Also got a hoard of goodies from the scrappies in beige: Door pockets, new boot struts, under glove box tray, original micra fitted floor mats, colour coded number plate nipples, rear wash/wipe switch...

    Is this true?

Ok that's very interesting. I was impressed with 45-50mpg but seems like there is a bit more to be had from the 1.0 if a well run 1.2 is getting 60+mpg. Mine is in pretty good nick but due a good service and a new dizzy. Wondering what a GC10 or GC13 conversion might give me (carbs or injection)?

    Is this true?

So what kinda mpg are you talking about from a 1.2 on motorways? What figures have people actually got other than guesses?

    Is this true?

I've got a 1987 1.0 Colette with the 50bhp low comp engine and 38k miles on the clock. I've been using the roadtrip app on my phone to track the mpg since march and it's averaging 46.5. I've got as much as 48mpg when i was making a bit of an effort to be economical but i think it could get to 50...

Suspension Overhall (where to find bump stops?)

Yep gonna spend a bit of time finding the grip limit so I know how it handles if it does go wonkey. Just a lot of understeer I'm guessing. This car will be ripe for a CG13 late next year when I've got a bit more experience/money.

Suspension Overhall (where to find bump stops?)

All done! Looks much better. Took it for a test drive last night when I'd finished on the wet Sussex roads. Completley transformed the car! Corners better, more stable on dual carriadeway, feels so much safer and best of all I can actually feel what the car is doing! Ride comfort seems to be a...

    sticker ideas?

Something like this... (I've got a bit of time on my hands waiting, literally, for paint to dry)

    sticker ideas?

Sorry feel like I should post something related to weestars original request... How about adapting one of those old stranger danger triangle signs that used to be in playgrounds with the text "I don't like to be touched by strangers"?

    sticker ideas?

As we're talking stickers, any chance a retro msc one like this could be made? Think it would suit the look of my K10 a bit more than the regular.

    MOT Fail!!

I think £140 is a decent price to do that cv boots as well. Can be a very time consuming job the first time you do it with rusty bolts and everything. Well done for not coughing up the £700!

    Which spring is which?

Just checked the lowering guide in the DIY section and the left spring (shorter) goes on the front and the right spring (longer) goes on the back. Well at least thats the way it's been done on the guide. Good job I didn't trust my instinct on this one :wow:

Help! gunk in the radiator and reservoir??

Maybe put a post on the general forum asking if anyone in Sussex can do the work for you? There's a few guys down here who are pretty handy with those things (myself not included). Failing that, if you're getting rid of it and it has white doors/beige interior I'd be interested in some parts.

    MOT Fail!!

"constant velocity joint gaiter split" - This was the first major repair I tried my hand at on a Subaru Impreza. Parts are cheap (max £10 each +other little bits like split pins). I don't know about the other jobs but if the others say it's not too much of a problem might be worth checking out...

CV joint going (just replace joint or driveshaft?)

The joint it is. Good news. Thanks.

    Which spring is which?

So best guess is left spring goes rear, right goes front? NatahanHug are you talking about lowering springs?

CV joint going (just replace joint or driveshaft?)

Hi, my CV joint is clicking when turning right. I think that means the N/S one has gone? There's no splits on the CV boots and it's not had any accidents. The clicking has been there for about a month (maybe longer as other noises were masking it) and hasn't got much worse but will need doing...

what did you do to your micra today ?

Thanks. Hope it'll keep the white vans and MkIV golfs off the back of me. Or at least get a laugh. I understand but I like the idea of this thread (genius frank). Quick and simple should it be.
