What are Stretch Bolts ?? As I'm replacing my headgasket I thought they were something to do with using longer/stretchable bolts, as when head is skimmed, old bolts are no longer suitable. Am I completely wrong ??

What do you mean ?? I think it's usually advised to get head skimmed for Aluminium heads particularly where they have overheated, which mine has. Just wondered who does the pressure testing, the engineering company doing the skimming or a garage or someone else

He says "I had the head skimmed and pressure tested before I re-assembled this engine". I am changing headgasket on my micra. Do you get it pressure tested when you get head skimmed ?? Who does that then ??
