A bit of a faff maybe, but it's not difficult, and it's cheaper than buying a new motor ;)

    Home made fibreglass bodyparts?

yeah i was thinking of the backfilling method to be honest.. If i was to try the mould way, how would i go about getting the surface smooth on the mould then smooth on the copy taken from the mould? I've not really started research or anything to be honest, just a random idea i thought I'd...

    hi all

Welcome to the club, If you're gonna facelift it, you'll need to swap the bonnet catch too. And side repeaters, the wiring will need changing on both the repeaters and headlights.

Well, we pay so we can see the guide, it wouldn't be fair if we then gave it out to everyone else! It's pretty simple though.

    Home made fibreglass bodyparts?

I've been thinking lately, is there anything stopping me from taking my wings, fibreglassing over them, pop off the fibreglass, add a few more layers, filler, finish and paint? Most likely only using a few mounts, ie. the two in the sill, under bonnet, then make one up for the front corner...

I'll be refitting the standard one when i get a chance, the nuts look pretty rusty though (when i say rusty, i mean so bad they're not even nut shaped anymore) so I'm not sure how far I'll get with no grinder! I think I'll look into getting it welded back up as i really can't afford another...

Hi my name is Dave and I have an interesting issue.

From what you've said, is there any chance the wiring where you put the key in is a bit dodgy and the heat breaks a joint or anything? Can't see how really, but from what you've said it might be worth checking?

Well, my backbox has snapped! Gonna have to swap it over for the standard one tomorrow after work. Also, my gear lever linkage is getting more rattly by the day so I'm gonna need to take a look at that sometime soon..

    1.4 micra conversion

Like tom's said, I'd sell up and buy either a 1.3 or 1.4 engined car to start with.. Work's out easier and cheaper.. win win.
