What is this Eco fuel or Bio fuel?

What the heck is Bio fuel from Morrisons and can I put in the pig? I'm guessing it's some super dooper carrot crunching earth hugging hippyfied vegetarian fuel which is mainly water so will mess the engine up in no time to keep the car haters happy...... I could be wrong. Running the pig on...

    K10 with auto transmission

K10 autotransmission I have cured the throttle lag as the alternator belt left the engine bay in a most unsatisfyingly way along with a big pop now there's no lag and thankfully as I don't have the toy battery but a 063 one it got me the three miles home.

Elderly driver dies in head on smash, wrong way up the M1.

Why the heck were they going up the M1 the wrong way? Come on how can you have sympathy for someone who obviously has no idea to what they're doing it's fairly noticable that you are going the wrong way up a motorway 1 cars are coming towards you no with you (Thats a big hint somethings...

Ok I'll give that a try, one thing the distributor being where it is isn't effecting the engine at all infact it's quieter there than it was sort of centralised. The car isn't over running when I turn off either and I've done 98miles in one stint today.

Thanks then I've got something seriously wrong because mine is now almost fully advanced no where near the center like yours or how it was. I've been told theres an issue with camshafts snapping in the center how true is this? Got to have a look at what's wrong with mine, wonder if a valve...

Yes the valve timing is correct to +/-1/2 a tooth. Odd thing is the car was running fine till the morning it refused to start no matter what we tried, the distributor was just off centre to advance 3degree

Ive replaced all the vacuum hoses with silicone tubing. Car runs just needs the distributor fully advanced +/- 5 degrees the accelerator has a touch of lag too. Any further ideas

    K10 with auto transmission

Good news after fitting new vacuum pipes throughout the car now runs and accelerates with a touch of lag. One slight issue to make the car run at any sensible level the distributor needs to be fully advanced+/- 5 degrees otherwise it rattles with no drive at all.

Halfords would stock it or do I need to go to Nissan for the vacuum piping? # Hissyfizzy Remember Christmas is on it's way so for your safety Don't Drink and Drive:

Stupid question time: If its the black breather/vacuum pipes where do I buy the black tube to replace the dead stuff? "Halfords or any other good car store"

How would I know that? The autobox doesn't change lumpy doesn't clunk, if I rev the engine up in N then drop it into D it will drive and change gear . Sammo has suggested an air leak in one of the smaller vacuum pipes which I will check tomorrow

Would a vacuum leak stop the engine reving when the car is dropped into gear? Will check the vacuum unit tomorrow though, thinking about it the vacuums behind the manifold is loose and it is around 12degrees + advance

    timing belt tension spring

The spring tensioner is a real pain on a K10 Don't rotate the spring at all just locate it on the bottom spring holder then slide the top onto the pin. You will have to loosen the tensioner down first but make sure it doesn't move so the spring will slip off.

    K10 with auto transmission

No I've changed the carb for a new one and don't have to pump anymore for it to run unlike the previous carburettor. In P & N it runs nicely and will acelerate no problem at all put into any gear the revs drop but will not accelerate if the accelerator is pushed around half way the revs speed...

    K10 with auto transmission

It is the same as previous will rev in PN will not rev in DR12 if I take it half throttle it will try to rev then drops off as though it's being starved of Fuel It's now starting to cost an insane amount to fix!! Tomorrow the cables will be adjusted for the new carb. What will the effect...

The points are at 0.45 as the haynes says. It got a major service today for the new carb tomorrow. I'm just hoping that the new carb will resolve the problem as It's been determined it's not the gearbox at fault as it will change gear and work as it should Points Condensor Plugs Leads...
