No it was far further than that if you look at the timing cover see the timing marks 10, 0 etc mine was totally advanced by more than the timing marks 5+ teeth out at the crank not cam

according to the manual it states there is supposed to be 1mm if you press the belt down on the longest side of the belt

Jump 20 degree I can't see how but it's possible as it was measured @1mm deflection, it seems to have done it all of a sudden It was replaced correctly

On a serious inspection of the car it has been found that the belt has jump somewhere in region of 20+ degree advance ie it's jumped past the entire length of the timing marks which is 20 something degrees. Might explain some of the timing problems distributor has been found to be faulty...

Carb I believe thats the bracket for the Vacuum thingy from the auto version of the carb, mine has the same bracket only difference is it has a black round thing bolted to it. It's called the Dashpot

Does it have the later or earlier fuel pump ? something about one or two tube ends on one side of the pump I guess if they changed the pump the return would be uneeded

K10 unfortunately no where near Yorkshire plug he wouldn't want this one with it's little problem. I think it's an easy fix just with Christmas coming it's a touch hectic and I'm not paying another £400 to fix it might have to try sending it back to see if they can fix it free Back to...
